I know that this may be risky, but I know that several CM lurk out there, and that many are charecters or others that have interaction with guests. ( shh... don't tell) But do any of you have a special story to tell about something magical that you have done or had part in? It would be interesting, and probabally tearfull, to see the "other side" of what Pixie Dust is all about.

I'll bet Safari Steve has some great stories.

We had an incredible experience with our server, Kerry, at the Rose and Crown. We went to WDW Feb. 7-15, on the 13th we had PS's at 7:30 at R&C to celebrate our anniversary. When my husband made the PS's he mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary, but we made no other mention of it that night. When we got to the check-in stand, Ross the host, immediately congratulated us on our anniversary. We took our pager and sat back down, 20 minutes later when we were paged, Ross kept smiling at us, when we gave our PS slip to the seater, she started smiling and giggling as well--we soon found out why. They gave us the best table outside to watch Illumations, they even asked a lady who was sitting there, if she would mind moving because we were celebrating our anniversary! Kerry came over to take our drink order, when she came with our drinks, she also had a complimentary champaign toast. It was so nice. The entire meal, Kerry was extremely attentive to us, when she brought our receipt back, she had written on the top "Cheers and Congratulations" and drew mouse ears. The next evening we had dinner at California Grille, as we were leaving, my husband felt someone grab his arm, we turned around and it was Kerry again, she was there having dinner, recognized us and came up to say hello! I couldn't believe after all the people she sees in a days time that she would remember us. Disney magic lives on!! :)

I forgot to mention this, but I just wanted to share our story with all of you. We're not CM's, not yet anyway, but it was a special story that made our vacation. Thanks to all of you dedicated CM's that make the magic happen!

We had some great experiences with CM's last week. The server I most remember is Jules from Boma. She is a wonderfully sweet lady who kept our soda glasses full (and we drink A LOT) and took time to chat with us. She even brought out an autograph book for us to sign, she does a new one each month and has all her guests sign it. She even thought to bring out a recipe request card so that we could request any Boma recipes for the food we liked.

The recpie was emailed to me the VERY next morning!!!

Stop in and ask for Jules next time you go to Boma!

I've got some! But I think I've told them before....oh well, it's fun to tell them.

Once, I was working in the shop in the Tomorrowland arcade. There was a mother with her son in a stroller hanging around. The kid was obviously not a happy camper. His mom explained that he was upset because he was too short to ride Space Mountain. I sat on the floor next to him and started chatting with him, and soon he was cheerful again, getting all into talking about what he had done that day, saying "and you know what...and you known what..." His mom ended up taking a picture of me with him! :)

Another time, it was a slow, boring E-ride night working at the cart near Buzz Lightyear. Two girls, about 10 and 4, were hanging around with their mother and we started talking. They were the sweetest, silliest kids! The little one sang some cute songs she had learned in school. The older one cracked me up when she took down one of the toy Woodys, put him on her shoulder, and started singing "Mr. Woody on my shoulder!" (tune of zip id e do dah) Before they left, the mother thanked me for putting up with them, but I told her I was glad for the company. :)

As a castmember, there's a special phone number we can call to get Goofy to say "happy birthday" to a guest over the phone. I remember this one little three year old girl with a mound of long curls. I found out it was her birthday and brought the phone over telling her she had a call. She was soooo excited! just bouncing everywhere. hehehe.

I can make a puppet creature with my hands, and at the parks, I loved showing it to the little kids. I ended up teaching several parents how to do it. hehe. I also loved to hold a plush character and make them wave to everyone, or passing out Mickey stickers and getting requests even from big kids.

One time, I was sitting on the floor restocking some jewelery right before we closed, and a little girl I had given a sticker to a little earlier came over to me, said bye, and gave me a completely unexpected hug! That made my day.

A lady in a wheel chair came over to the counter in the store and asked if I had any tissues because her daughter had been suffering from a terrible cold all day. I offered her some from the klenex box we always keep behind the counter. She asked if she could keep the box. It's actually for CMs, but I figured what the heck, and let her take it. She and her daughter were so happy.

I was at the Magic Kingdom last month and the trip covered both my birthday and our 35th wedding anniversary. First the funny (or not so funny) birthday.....

We went to the Magic Kingdom and even though I'm middle-aged, I got a birthday button from City Hall. Just after that I started to feel very sick (tummy bug) and after a while just took my birthday button off because people were just being so kind and wishing me happy birthday and I just didn't feel well enough to respond. Eventually I went to the first-aid post and the CM's I(nurses) there were wonderful, gave me some anti-nausea medicine and a nice cool dark place to lie down for an hour. I didn't feel better after that so just gave up and we went back to the hotel (fortunately I was better the next day). The funny part was right after I'd taken the medicine the nurses said there was a phone message for me - and you guessed it - they'd seen my birthday button and arranged for Goofy to wish me 'a wonderful, happy day' - kind of ironic seeing that was the last kind of day I was having!

Two days later - feeling better - wedding anniversary - dinner at Boma's. Our first time there - what a wonderful meal. The server (I wish I could remember her name), got us a really nice table and looked after us so well. At the end of the meal she brought out a big white tile. On top of the tile was a 'happy 35th wedding anniversary' greeting iced in chocolate and the tile was covered in chocolate truffles and small cookies, liberally sprinkled with mickey heads. It was a wonderful surprise. I asked her to thank the chef for us, and the next minute he came out to take our thanks personally. We also received a signed card from some of the CM's - it made it a wonderful occasion for us. AKL is beautiful and we took some super photos in the reception area which will make a treasured memory of a special day.

My sister was a CM working at Hollywood and Vine in '97 during a college program and everytime children would come into the restuaurant she would ask for their autographs as if they were stars and they loved it!

awww thank you so much for these stories :)
I'm only 16 at the moment and training in dance etc so hoping to audition for Disney when I'm 18! I've seen auditions here in london and even there they have some magic and everyone seems so friendly (compared to many auditions I've seen where they sit all serious)
