Hi! I can't think of the right way to ask this question, but:

I'm debating whether I want to wear a LGMH on our upcoming trip. Has anyone had negative/less helpful experiences from CM's while wearing their lime green?

My thinking goes like this:
Most people on the DIS have gone to Disney many times and don't need a lot of suggestions/guidance from CMs about things to do/where to go. Me, on the other hand, I want to learn as many things as I can to make our trip special. I'm wondering if CMs who recognize me as a DIS member might not go out of their way to tell me something they think I already know?

I want to wear one because I love this site and am happy to have found it!

This is a very valid question and I have been seriously thinking the same thing. Since this is our first trip I may not take the lgmph. More often than not the Dis board seems to be a sounding board for unhappy customers. I would love to see more praise for these people (CM's) as I certainly could not do their job and I look forward to shooting the breeze with the CM's at the Canadian pavillion.

I know I'm new to this too but I was just lurking for a few months before I actually joined the group and I have to say that this is the very best website I've found for POSITIVE interaction about ANY subject (ever been on a parenting forum when someone mentions discipline? Keep your head down!). Anytime you have a large group of people you will get varied opinions and some topics touch more of a nerve then others. No website, Disney related or no, will always have 100% positive things to say and everything you read MUST be taken with that in mind. I've read wildly varied posts just on the Princess Breakfast in Norway...everything from hate it, don't waste your time to loved it, made our trip!

While from what I can gather some CM"S are DISers but I bet you the fast majority of them could care less what gets said here and that how they treat, or don't treat you, will have nothing to do with whether you're wearing a LGMH or not.

Personally, this will be my first trip back to Disney in 27 years and once I get my butt the one and a half hours down the road to the nearest Home Depot I'll be grabbing those little limey green suckers. I'll wear them proudly in the parks because even before I get there I already know that this website will make my vacation 100% more magical then if I haven't found it.

I wouldn't worry about sporting the lime. I never had anyone comment on the one I was wearing. Only saw one other person with one and I was too shy to say hi!

i will be going in a few days and i can't wait to wear my LGMH lol i already made my dds LGMH tags on them i wrote future Dis'er hehehe even if no one says hi i know there are others there lol and what matters most is im there with my girls(i almost lost my vac. time)

The majority of CMs have absolutely no clue that this board even exists.

Wear your lime green thing so others that know what it stands for can pick you out of the crowd.

I wore them on my first trip ever and had one fellow DISer say Hi. :) I felt as though the CMs didn't even notice. They probably see tons of people wearing stranger things than LGMH. ;) (In other words, if you want to, wear them!) :disrocks:

LGMH? Lime Green Mickey Hat?

Close! Lime green mickey head. They're 'paint chips' from Home Depot that are shaped like mickey's head. People wear them/decorate with them to show other people from Dis forums that they also read the Dis forums.

I got a handful of chips from Home Depot and was happily decorating them until I started to worry that I'd possibly get less helpful support on my first WDW visit because cast members would see that I'm reading the Dis forums and assume I already know the important stuff.

I think I'll do it anyway, and assume that most CMs don't know/don't care and will help me have the best experience possible.
Thanks for the responses!

LIke i said, many CMs have never heard of this site.

So wearing a Lime Green Mickey wont keep you from getting info from CMs.

Most will go out of their way to help you or answer any of your questions.
