CMO TOP 10 Announced

The voting "ended" at around 6:00 am CST. I kept hitting refresh on the CMO site and I posted as soon as I discovered it. According to the time of my last post this morning, that time should be close.



It was no problem keeping track of the votes while everyone was dreaming of chocolate Easter bunnies. When this contest is finally over, we're all going to have to make sure to keep in touch.

YAY!!! I am on at the same time as MadBrad!!! *when does he sleep??*

Impressed with the updates last night and in the am Brad! THANKS (from someone who gave up WAY too early)

Loving that the diehards are not the finalists......what does THAT say about us Cathie?!

I loved that show way back when, when the classics were on it. Bill Murray, John Belushi, Dan Akroyd, etc.
So many of them went on to bigger and better things, and some destroyed themselves (RIP John) The Blues Bros is still one of my fave movies.

Someone is in my age bracket it appears?? Are you one of the 3 guys or the girl in the group? And nice job with the commentary and diagnosis of the final voting night!

Hey gang! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! Thanks to madbrad, 3guyandagal and the rest of you for keeping track of things last night and this morning.

I don't have any news to report, though. Honestly. I'm hoping that the folks at Disney, CareerBuilder, and Centra Marketing were allowed to spend the day with their families and that they'll get around to contacting us all tomorrow (keeping my fingers crossed that the top 3 haven't already been contacted and that this isn't just wishful thinking!)

I'm looking for a quote that I just know one of you guys used. I've searched the internet, both threads here and even fleagle's website thinking maybe that was where I saw it. It was a Mary Poppins quote about looking to/past the stars...something like that!

I knew I should have written it down! I'd really like to use it for an art fair coming up.

That's how I see it too. No news is no news. It's neither good nor bad (but perhaps a bit nerve wracking!)

As for thinking of them . . . I know I wouldn't have wanted them pulled away from their families on Easter on my account! I'm sure the communication - either way - will pick up once they get back into the office after the holiday!

Wow - I lost my bet that sponsors wouldn't figure anything was wrong until Monday. I guess there's one person paying attention to the contest!

On a new tack, I'm wondering why they would not want people to know the top 3 as soon as possible? Wouldn't those 3 be promoting the continuing contest, and trying to get other people to GO to the parks to watch the contest? And of course to spend money? Wouldn't that be better for the sponsors than several weeks of silence? Just curious.

To clarify (since it appears there are two messages about an announcement date):

*Message on dreamcmo.com home-page:
"Voting for your favorite Top 10 candidate has closed.

...Stay tuned for the announcement of the three finalists early April, then come back mid-April to find out more about the final CMO competitions at Walt Disney World® Resort."

*Language from "Official Contest Rules & Regulations":
"Finalist Prize Winners will be notified by e-mail and U.S. Mail on or about March 23, 2008."


So, do you think it's safe to assume that the Top Three have/will be notified "on or about" today and that they'll then enter a "cone of silence" until the official announcement date in early April? (Yikes!)

Wow! I truly wish we didn't have to wait so long for answers!

I was thinking that with today being Easter, (We had a great one BTW) CB overlooked another thing in the official rules and will probably contact the 3 tomorrow.

"Cone of silence" that is great! I think that is pretty dumb at this point. What would hold anyone's attention to the contest for another 3 weeks? I guess Donald will show up again???

We had a great Easter Sunday, lots of old friends. My DD bought me a Build-A-Bear that plays the last few seconds of my CMO Video. We saw all four granddaughters (didn't completely see the one due to be born April 8!)
