Oh, I'm sure that late votes aren't going to count. It's just such poor planning. I'm guessing that marketing doesn't have much of a budget for this contest.
It's still letting me vote too. You would think that when 11:59:59 PM EST passed that the site wouldn't let you vote anymore. Maybe 3guysandagal is right and the program is not taking DST into account. I could see this as being a possible issue if somebody wanted to make it one. What if they stopped voting for their CMO while others kept on voting. Anyway, I would just like to wish all of the top 10 CMO candidates good luck.
Tell Mr. DISgeeks thanks! And see if he minds me using the motto: Have crayons will travel!
Also, since he was my first victim - and I've gotten a bit better, sort of, see if he wants me to try and spiff up his cat-o-tar, or if he is happy as is!
Hey, Cat: 'Just noticed that you recently checked in, so I thought I'd respond to an earlier post. ('Sorry it took so long. I've been a bit MIA for the past few days -- but sporadically lurking. I had to get the family packed for our trek to my parents' house for Easter and Spring Break. For me, packing is always a beast... )
ANYWAY... Mr. DISgeeks and I love the new slogan! ("Have crayons will travel!" )
Oh, and he's perfectly happy with his cat-o-tar "as is." His biggest request was for a green background (his favorite color!), and you addressed that immediately!
Okay, I'd better get to bed, 'cuz it's going to be an early morning!
I can't wait to learn the results of the Top Three!
Just one more example of a poorly executed contest by the sponsors! Here are some examples:
-poorly written rules that needed an extensive technical editing.
-inconsistent info about size of video (50 or 100mg?).
-lack of server capability to receive videos on last day of entry.
-inability of judges to follow the poorly written rules in choosing top 20 then top 10.
-lack of creativity in designing the contestants' voting pages. (Really - with all the d-sponsors' characters, and the graphic artists at both sponsors' companies, they couldn't come up with 10 different "parties" - they could only come up with 5?).
-limited information provided on those sites for each candidate - only updated 2 times in 3 week voting period.
-press releases put out after about 2 weeks of the 3 week voting period. How helpful!
-now, the contest continues to count UP time and votes after 11:59:59 pm EST.
OK, just a second here.
When I refresh the main page on IE, for a split second the time reads "2008-3-23 11:59:59 GMT+08:00".
+08:00?????????
should be -05.00 shouldnt it??
I just noticed the same thing as catotigger. The clock on the Disney CMO sight is indeed counting up and the votes are still adding up as well. The vote total is now up to 486,412 and climbing. This could be a major problem if not corrected. I'll be at work until 6:00 am so I"ll keep checking in on the votes when possible.
