Go Meggin! :cheer2: Go Meggin!:cheer2:

thanks so much, marshay!! did you get a chance to check out the wikipedia article? i put a link to this disboard thread on there--it was fun!

also, thanks to you, i have the ability to post another picture of my shenanigans around town...i infiltrated enemy territory with my pixie dust....

universalmagic-1.jpg

i also had some fun at a toll road....i pre-wrote out 10 disney cards with my sticker on them that said, "[checked box] toll paid! wish granted! if this made you smile, please visit www.dreamcmo.com/meggin" i then drove the booth, and pixie dusted the toll both employee. i paid for the ten people behind me, asked him to hand out my cards and drove off. it was fun! even if no one looked at the cards, it felt good to give those ten people a little surprise "happy" in their day.

i hope you are having a great afternoon! i'm afraid that i am off until late tonight, but i'll be back!

love,
meggin

Ok, off to work. Have a nice day all. And by the way, I seem to have misplaced HMF? Anyone seen him? :confused3
Justin tried to hide me in the closet so he could have all of the home baked goodies to himself.... but I found a way out and came out of the closet..... again. :rotfl:

I love it! (And, I'm so glad you seem to be having so much fun with this contest! How cool is that?!? :thumbsup2)

Oh, I meant to ask...

Inquiring Minds Want to Know: What has been the reaction of those unsuspecting folks who become the lucky recipients of your "pixie dust" showers?? In the photo from "that Other Park" half of your spectators are facing away from the camera... It does look like the guy in the red jacket is still trying to size up the situation , since the snapshot was captured mid-act! :rotfl:

Once again, I'd love to be a fly on the wall ... popcorn:: (In this case, I guess I'd be buzzing around scoping out the best possible view. ;) )

Meggin,

Two more wonderful ideas! Thanks for posting that shot of you in action!

I also love the toll booth story. I've been "paying it forward" at toll booths ever since I heard a particularly inspiring message at a conference I was at last June. I have to admit, though, I've never paid for 10 at a time! Well done! I really do think you have the spirit of this thing nailed! :thumbsup2

(now it would really be magical if one of those 10 people took the time to think about it and pay for someone else! Really keep the magic chain, going, you know? and I'm SURE they looked at the cards and took the time to vote!)

Good Afternoon! I just thought I'd log in and say hello to all of you. The community of Disney fans is a wonderful and wacky bunch and I proudly count myself as one!
I just heard that there is going to be a Little Mermaid dark ride coming to Disney's California Adventure. I was so excited that I hopped all over the room and my 4 year old asked me what happened. Then I told her, she started hopping all over the place! She said Mommy let's go ride it. Then I broke the news that it won't be openning until 2011. She asked how old she will be then, and I said 7 1/2. Many Tears.
All was made better with hugs and playing Mulan II together.
Good Luck on the Lottery! And Keep spreding the Magic!
Amy Kate

You sound like such a fun mom! :thumbsup2 (It's truly the little things, isn't it??)

I got fairly giddy last week during the mundane task of grocery shopping. I discovered Mickey-Mouse shaped hamburger patties in the frozen section, and they were on sale to boot! (Prefab burgers aren't something I typically buy, but how could I resist? ... They were Mickey burgers, after all?!? )

'Kind of reminds me of the time I discovered Darth Tater and Spud Trooper Mr. Potato Heads. The Spud Trooper wields a potato-masher weapon, while Darth's box states, "Luke - Together we will rule as Father and Spud." Hilarious! I just want to reward that type of marketing genius. (In fact, I love giving them as birthday presents!)

First, download Opera or Firefox and use a different browser. Second, get a hold of spybot to help with the malware.

THANKS!!! I did spybot and adaware.....and I am STILL in a 16 year loop (LOST reference) with the iexplore.exe -- it actually regenerates itself and bogs the whole thing down.

My son has been wanting to switch me over to Opera but it is hard for me to transfer all of my trust to a 12 year old --- my ego can't take it!

Again, thanks so much for the help!

Thanks for checking in, Kenny! I completely understand about being busy. This is the longest week of the year for me at work.

Where are you headed on Spring break? Any specifics or charts you want to share about those stats? I have noticed that the vote counter on the main site seems to have jumped up a bit farther over the past few days. . .

Talk to you soon!

We're going to Abilene to visit some friends. It's about 4 hours from home. I thought we were leaving last night, but my wife had planned a secret date at a bed and breakfast. We're leaving in the morning...i think???

Speaking of the final voting push - - - have you all been voting? Spreading the word and the love?

The other voting "game" that some of my friends of been playing involves the security codes. (for those who missed it, the first game was a challenge to see how many votes you could cast during the 60 second running time of my video. Those who use a speedy keystroke shortcut recorded totals in the the 30's! Regular typers topped out at 12 votes in a minute. Anyone want to try again? ;) )

Anyway, they try to make up words, stories, or discover acronymns within the codes. Some are easier than others, but they seem to find that it keeps them entertained when they are just about to lose interest and stop voting for a period.

On an interesting side note, I have yet to have a code with the letters c, m, and o, all in it. Anywhere. Most of the codes seem to emphasize less-used letters like q, z, and x. Does anyone know why that is?

Okay, totally legit, keyboard only, coding all five letters per vote: 16 per minute. How did I do?

Love the wiki, now we need to do one for the '07 contest!

When I took our youth to the concert recently a lady in front of me paid for my parking. Meggin, you didn't make a trip to OKC recently did you?

Oh, BTW, we're getting an NBA franchise soon. Supersonics will be moving here.

THANKS!!! I did spybot and adaware.....and I am STILL in a 16 year loop (LOST reference) with the iexplore.exe -- it actually regenerates itself and bogs the whole thing down.

Trust the 12 year old!

I guess it's official now, then. Welcome back! Aren't the pins great?

So aside from what we saw in your video, what else did you and your family do on vacation? Any fun stories or fascinating trip reports?

I tried to post again from work and my computer went all crazy and shut me down. The "man" must be on to my Disney infatuation... :rolleyes1

Anyway, to answer your question Justin, we had a wonderful trip. We met a member of the Dream Squad on our first day at MK. We weren't even planning on going to MK, but I can't be on Disney property and not go. Peter Pan was down for a few days so the IASW lines were longer than usual. As we neared the last turn before decending, out pops Angelique and she starts talking to my children. Next thing we know, we are Guest Cruise Directors standing in the operations tower of IASW waving to the boats as they leave. It was a very nice Magical Moment. It was also Angelique's next to last moment on the Dream Squad (we ran into her later in the trip at Chef Mickey's and she told us she told us how they rotate the Dream Squad members).

Everything was great! We tried a few new things while there, and ate at some new restaurants. I loved Cape May and Beaches and Cream. As a matter of fact, if I make the Top 3, the other two WILL BE JOINING me as we attack THE KITCHEN SINK. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, look it up. Yummmmmmmmm.

I had a great time meeting Meggin and her husband. Congrats on the new part Meggin!

I took my 4 year old on Soarin' for the first time and she loved it. I Fast Pass'd it and we waited 15 minutes in the regular line. Left to ride Nemo and Imagination and came back to ride Soarin' again. We had a better seat the second time.

Boardwalk was beautiful. We were in the last possible section so we got a lot of walking in to offset all of the calories.

Thanks for the "welcome". Was there a link to your press that you received?

You are absolutely WELCOME Tripp. :worship: :wizard:

I can totally see how much passion you have for Disney and that I believe that you should have the chance to prove it. I think everyone who made the top 10 is very deserving and it is very difficult to have to choose just 3.

It is really good to see the posts on here to get an idea of what everyone is really about. You get to see them outside of just the 1 minute video. Some of the videos are very creative, but I think that there is so much more to see about a candidate than just that. This is more than a creative video scripting and production contest. I think we need to vote for the folks that really embody the essence of what Disney really is.

I think that based on what I have read that Tripp, Justin and Meggin have the right stuff.

TRIPP and MEGGIN...was that a chance, planned or coincidentally planned meeting in DisneyWorld last week?

Thanks BigThunderMtn! Meggin and I knew we would meet, but the video was shot quickly and unrehearsed... just a little improv which I had fun doing. I think I got the Hollywood Police Officer out of character for a second...

What part of Atlanta are you from?

well, it didn't start out as a success. i auditioned for the show (sondheim's assassins--not the most cheerful show, i'll admit) about two weeks ago. i found out last week that a good friend of mine had been cast in the role i was also called back for (no surprise there--it happens often). however, she was forced to turn the role down because she's amazingly talented and was offered a role in another show that would give her more money. so, a few days passed and still no phone call. then, i saw an audition posted for the role that i had been called back for. i was pretty sad about it, because it meant that i wasn't being considered for the role, or i would have been called without the theatre having to go through another audition.

still, i decided not to give up. i called the director and left a message for him. i told him that i was sorry i apparently hadn't shown him what he was looking for the first time around. i said that i was still interested in pursuing the role, and that if it wasn't an issue of type (i'm much taller and a brunette--my "first cast" friend is a petite blonde sprite), i'd love the opportunity to audition again and hopefully show him something new. i got a phone call on friday telling me that i could come in and audition on saturday. i did the audition, and got the offer for the role on sunday!! it was great!! i was very nervous about asking for a second chance, but i'm glad that i showed the director that i was taking the opportunity seriously.

sorry for the long-winded explanation. sometimes i don't know how to censor myself!

meggin

That is soooooo exciting, Meggin! Congrats! LOVE the Wikipedia submission and the action shot of pixie dust, too. :goodvibes You are so creative!

Wouldn't you know that the last week of campaigning has ended up to be the craziest week ever? All good stuff, though (bday parties, soccer mom duties resurfacing, five guests in our home, practicing with my praise team kiddos for the Easter service, etc.). Is anyone else in the same boat? Well, I KNOW Meggin is...and I'm sure everyone else is, too. Long story short, I've missed chatting with all of you. Well, off to the church. Hope to talk to you all again soon. Four more days!

Have a blessed Easter, everyone! :flower3:

Hey Tripp!

Glad you're back and you had a great time on your trip! Or is that your tripp? :)

My neice was married at WDW, yep, last October! And instead of a rehearsal dinner, we had a rehearsal dessert at Beaches and Cream. It was great! We polished off 2 yes 2! Kitchen sinks!

most of these people have enjoyed the surprise. this is what happened before i threw the pixie dust:

universalcandy.jpg

i always give the people something first, and then i tell them that i'm going to pixie dust them. i think that people are worried i'm going to give them a faceful of glitter. they're usually much happier when they see my pixie dust. and they laugh when i bring out my dustpan and clean up my mess.

thanks for asking!
