They promised you local press coverage in your market? I had kind of assumed that the reason they structured the contest this way was so that the contestants would be out spreading the word themselves.

If you go to your local papers websites, they will likely list the reporters who cover local human interest stuff. You should just give them a call yourself! The papers might react more favorably to that than to a press release from the Disney company which might get lost in the shuffle.[/QUOTe

I called Coyne Public Relations and they said local press releases were going out now, so that's good news!

On the plus side, when I sent out my thank you notes from my interview, I didn't have Ellen's last name and my card was returned. So at least I now have her correct last name and can resend the card so she doesn't think I'm rude!

We are a bit behind here on that contest and, the way I read the rules, only one vote per person per day. But you, Mrs Fleagle, (and your husband) have quite a few people on this list with lengthy email address books right now (we sure do). And all of those people really LIKE you. Good Afternoon! I just thought I'd log in and say hello to all of you. The community of Disney fans is a wonderful and wacky bunch and I proudly count myself as one!
I just heard that there is going to be a Little Mermaid dark ride coming to Disney's California Adventure. I was so excited that I hopped all over the room and my 4 year old asked me what happened. Then I told her, she started hopping all over the place! She said Mommy let's go ride it. Then I broke the news that it won't be openning until 2011. She asked how old she will be then, and I said 7 1/2. Many Tears.
All was made better with hugs and playing Mulan II together.

So did anyone else declare a winner(s) in last night's DISbate?? I know that folks said they would vote 100 times for the winner but who won in your mind?? or was it an 8-way tie?

I actually ended up in a 2-way tie based on the number of +'s given as answers throughout the night.

Ok, off to do my vote pledge! So by giving at least 10 votes for the Top 8 candidates, there is a great statistical chance that I would have voted for the Top 3!! (you math experts can take that one! I'll stick to doing my Disney ABC book!)

Are you writing a Disney ABC Book? That sounds like a great idea! I'd buy it for my 4 year old.

See how quickly people get bored? 3 days and huge drop, a spike and drop and bump. 25% of first day hits.

It is very interesting how folks get bored so quickly. I have had a lot of friends and family emailing me wanting to know when I am going to be adding new content to my website. I had to explain to them that Careerbuilder's PR people have been giving us writing and photo assignments and that they should be up soon. But in the mean time they could look at my MySpace and my Youtube sites. If they wanted to see more about what I've been up to, and that they could then go back to the CMO site to vote more.
I hope that new content goes up soon!
Just a few days left to vote before Sping Break begins in our area, and then lots of folks will be out of town and away from their computers.

The arranged two newspaper interviews and a tv interview for me last year. I wasn't concerned about that stuff, so I didn't spend any personal time doing it. I was all about the person in front of the computer.
