Wow I finally caught up, GREAT answers everyone...now I have to get to voting! But I have to ask David W. since now I am so curious...as a lover of Disney food- What is you favorite Disney restaurant? And what is your favorite thing to eat at Disney? popcorn::

I love the Bengal Barbeque in Disneyland and my favorite thing to eat is bacon wrapped asparagus. I can eat 6 or more skewers a day!! They are called Safari Skewers! Thanks. David

Good Job last night everyone.

It was very enlightening.... I was impressed, excited, humored, and disappointed all at the same time. It was a great way to get to know some of you a bit better....Mr. Autopia made me laugh, who'd a thought? And some of you continued your push forward, and others have just peeked their heads out. Some, who did not show for whatever reason, made a huge statement to me too. (not including those who sent their answers ahead to Fleagle.) ;)

While I won't disclose who I thought won (don't really know yet), I will say that it was sincerely nice to see you all participate and take it seriously. I think there might be a couple who entered on a whim and advanced on a whim and others who were serious from the beginning. Because of how emotionally invested I am (only speaking for myself here) I would hope that the final three are emotionally invested too. Heck, just be "invested" in it and actually "doing" something would be great!

On another note: I would like to give a shout out to my hubby, Eric (Fleagle) for being such an inspiration. Continuing to spread the magic, as a true CMO should do, he has continued to sincerely care about this contest and can't help but to spread that Pixie Dust. Those pin requests are still coming in...and now from those we've never heard of. No offense, you are still more than welcome to receive them. It's just amazing to me that even some 'lurkers' are asking to be a part of what could have been. Absolutely incredible! Maybe those pins will be worth something after all! :thumbsup2

As sick as he's been this past week (I wonder where he got it?) he still managed to throw this event together and bring the funny at the drop of a pin. Anyway.....I know you all appreciate him as much as I do...but I just wanted to publicly mention it!

And again everyone, good job! We missed you HMF, it just wasn't the same without you!

Amy

You're so right about your husband! He's absolutely wonderful, and he certainly spreads that pixie dust around.

Thank you for being so active in this journey. I'm so sorry if I'm in the group of people that disappointed you last night. I really do want everyone here to know how much this CMO position means to me. I became pretty frustrated by an article that came out this week in my local paper, because the reporter misrepresented something that I said to him. When he asked about the "concept" of my video, I told him that I was originally concerned that my concept wasn't completely original--that other people would choose to go out into the community with random acts of kindness. I told him that I felt that even if I didn't progress in the contest, at least I knew that I had a great day of making other people happy. He translated this conversation by saying that I "wasn't excited about my video." This was TOTALLY not true at all. *sigh*

In a more positive light, you had asked about our "behind the scenes" campaigning. I've been canvassing Orlando with my little red wish granted bag full of pixie dust. Today, I was giving out my candy and "vote for Meggin" stickers to some grocery store employees, and I heard an inspirational story from an elderly stock associate. When I explained why I was sprinkling him with pixie dust and giving him candy, he said that he believed in magic. He told me a story about his granddaughter, who had a terrible lung disease that she struggled with in childhood. He said that she loved glitter and magic. Soon after she passed away, another member of the family--a cousin--was also desperately ill. One morning, her mother came into her room to see her much improved, with glitter all over her bed. The associate said there had been no glitter in the house--and this is why he believes in magic.

I thought this was a really wonderful story, so I had to share :)

Again, I'm sorry to anyone out there on the disBOards that has counted me as a disappointment or doubted my intentions. If you have any questions for me, I welcome them. Have a wonderful day!!

I've got magic to do.....

welcome to our fairy godmother!! i'm so happy that you're here, and that campaigning went well yesterday :) i'm glad that the costume wasn't too hot!!

thanks so much for your help!!

A belated thanks to both Fleagles for arranging the debate last night. I appreciated hearing more from some of the "quieter" contestants. Overall, I think it served its purpose and I became clearer on who I am voting for most and why.

I didn't pledge publicly, but I wanted to assure the participating contestants that each of them received 10 votes from me first thing this morning (well, about 4th thing). At least 2 contestants will be getting another 100 votes a piece today and tomorrow.

Good luck to everyone!

Thanks Meggin,
I just thought I'd pop in and see what you were all up to today.
I love the car! Great Idea!
I have to go get my 4 year old from preschool now and take her to the park to play with all of her pals!
I hope to meet you someday. You have a lovely spritely spirit!
Keep spreading the Magic!

Wow Mrs. Fleagle! Take care of that brilliantly funny husband of yours. Mine was so sick 2 weeks ago we thought he was dying. My husband had that awful flu with 104.4 fever for 3 days, when he finally got to the hospital they were treating him for asthma (which he has never had) The treatment was hard on his heart rate and the nurses thought he was having a heart attack! It was a truly stressful couple of days!
He finally let me take care of him and was back to work 4 days later!
A special thanks to you both for getting the super duper fun Disbate!
Keep spreading the Magic, because there's a little Fairy Godmother in all of us!

Yikes....I don't think they had the same thing....sounds like your hubby won that contest! ;) We've just been passing a horrible head and chest cold around. Our little guy had the high fever and is still "Grumpy" but all in all we're on the mend.

Glad you all are better too! Really good to hear from you!

Amy

Well now thanks to David I'll have to try some Bacon wrapped asparagus in April! Sounds good.

But after listening to the next two contestants on the Inside the Magic podcast and reading through the very creative Disbate brought to us by Fleagle, does anyone else wonder what the sponsors are doing? There are only 11 voting days left and I haven't seen an update of the contestants web pages or anything else to pump up this contest. Or maybe they are just counting on the contestants to promote themselves? But I think the creative things that Fleagle has come up with are great!

Fleagle I think they should put you in charge of next year's contest, I think you and Kenny as a team would put on an amazing, interactive contest! (then you would both probably get that desired free trip and could share in the magic!).

Sponsors...are you reading this thread still :confused3

Hey, Meggin:

No worries! It's evident that you care about the CMO contest (and people's perceptions ;) ). I think that folks really appreciate your willingness to open up and share the details of your life and your campaign efforts. As others have mentioned before, you seem like a very warm, genuine person -- a necessary quality for any CMO! :thumbsup2

If anything, the disappointment is over those who didn't even bother to show up to the "party," when Kenny went above and beyond to invite them and fleagle tried to be flexible by posting comments submitted in advance. (Intentionally or not, it sort of communicates a lack of interest in doing what it takes to nail the CMO "gig," which -- in turn -- is a slap in the face to those passionate contestants who really took risks and hustled only to be eliminated from the race before it really even started... :sad2: It's almost as if those on the sidelines are more invested in this process than some of the contestants seem to be. There, I said it... :rolleyes1 )

To quote Pooh (again!): "you can't always sit in your corner of the forest and wait for people to come to you... You have to go to them sometimes."

Side Note: Let me be the first to say that I'm confident these silent contestants are super-terrific people. (Maybe they're just a bit shy...) If they never introduce themselves, though, we'll never know... Plus, a painfully shy candidate may not be the most obvious choice for a job that involves performing silly stunts in front of large groups of people... )

Oh, and sorry for the misrepresentation by the news media. Frustrating! :headache:

Okay, stepping off my soapbox.... :flower3:

In best Bob Barkeresque voice..."Who do you have for us next Johnny?" "Your objective is to get 1 dollar in one spin or a combination of two spins." "Here's your showcase!" "What's your bid on that fabulous prize?" What do you think? They could bring me down for the game show portion!

The only ones that didn't participate in any form were: Jennifer and Tangela

So did anyone else declare a winner(s) in last night's DISbate?? I know that folks said they would vote 100 times for the winner but who won in your mind?? or was it an 8-way tie? :rotfl:

I actually ended up in a 2-way tie based on the number of +'s given as answers throughout the night.

Ok, off to do my vote pledge! So by giving at least 10 votes for the Top 8 candidates, there is a great statistical chance that I would have voted for the Top 3!! (you math experts can take that one! I'll stick to doing my Disney ABC book!)

Hey, Kenny -- did you hear anything from them at all? Like my dog ran away and we were out looking for her all night and then the storm knocked out our electricity so I couldn't attend nor answer questions in advance?? :lmao:

Oh I agree! I think Kenny and Fleagle would make amazing hosts for some of the challenges that the top 3 will apparently have to do in WDW...wouldn't that make for a funny video!
