DAVID H's INDIVIDUAL QUESTION:

Through a fluke, he got AMY KATE'S QUESTION... but here is his answer:

Who has the most rabid fans, Star Trek or Disney?

If you had said Star Wars...you would have a tough question. But...if it is between Star Trek or Disney? Disney hands down. I think every kid and evey adult with Mickey mouse ears could take over the cling-on world faster than a transporter!

PATRICK'S INDIVIDUAL QUESTION:

You have your own Podcast, and you’ve sold DVDs teaching people how to make their own Disney “cut-outs” How do you think becoming the Disney CMO would affect those two out-of-contest interests?

MEGGIN'S INDIVIDUAL QUESTION:

You appear to be one of the youngest candidates. How do you think your age benefits your qualifications as CMO? Do you think there are any negatives?

DAVID W'S INDIVIDUAL QUESTION:

As one of the older contestants, how do you think your age and experience benefits your qualifications as CMO? Do you think there are any negatives?

KARRIE'S INDIVIDUAL QUESTION:

Regarding music, you mentioned here on the DISboards “although the contest rules prohibit music...that's for copyright and royalty issues...not some goofball like me who's singing acapella!” Did you feel that you were taking a chance by singing? Given that the rules state: "Any Online Entry submitted with music will be disqualified,” did you expect that your video might, in fact, be disqualified?

ANNOUNCER: Final question for the general round: We've asked RABBIT to not come on stage due to time considerations.

RABBIT: {offstage} OUTRAGEOUS!!!!

Question #9: Finish this sentence: My year as CMO would not be complete without _________?

lots of laughter, boundless wish-granting, and Disney dreams coming true for as MANY guests as I'm allowed to share my joy with.

TRIPP'S INDIVIDUAL QUESTION

Why do you think some people reacted so negatively to your entry?

And his answer:

I honestly don’t know. I can’t figure it out. Maybe at first some may have thought I was doing a “radio-stunt” like some of those fake auditions on American Idol. But that is not the case; I am a life-long fan of Disney. Maybe some were afraid I would be talking about it on the air to a potential audience of over a million people, but I am not. It was brutal the day I made the Top 20. I was shocked. Everybody was out to bring me down and trying everything they could to get me disqualified, but I never once struck back and said anything negative about anyone’s video. It was so bad that Disney execs took notice and brought it up in my first phone interview. If anything, this was the ultimate test of character.

DAVID W'S INDIVIDUAL QUESTION:

As one of the older contestants, how do you think your age and experience benefits your qualifications as CMO? Do you think there are any negatives?

I’ve been lucky to have lived almost 66 years, and I’ve seen almost the entire Disney History unfold in my lifetime.

As the ONLY candidate with 53 years of visiting Disney parks, I have an unique perspective. I’ve worked professionally with families for so many years that when I’m in the parks, I get a lot out of seeing healthy families.

I am a snowboarder, and a Vespa scooter nut, I have no physical limitations and know there are NO negatives about my age.

Candidates... after you have posted your individual answers, the forum is yours. You can post any closing statement you would like.

DIScademy Members... feel free to ask the candidates any questions you would like. They may or may not hang around as everyone has work in the morning (or voting to do tonight!)

If you have a favorite candidate... now is your chance to enter THE SPIN ROOM. Tell us why you think they performed well tonight and why they should be the next CMO!!!

Here are closing thoughts from our three absentees:

AMY KATE
Thanks for letting me participate!

Keep spreading the magic! Because there's a little Fairy Godmother in all of us!

DAVID H
I appreciate the opportunity.

TRIPP

Thanks again for the opportunity to be here and represent you as a Top 10 finalist for the Disney Dream CMO contest for The Year of A Million Dreams presented by CareerBuilder.com… now get back to voting!!!

For our next question, please welcome Regis and Kelly!

{Regis enters in an old style Notre Dame football uniform. Kelly sports a Donald Duck for CMO T-Shirt}

REGIS: WOW! This is big time stuff! The Great DISbate... WOW!

KELLY: Yes, Reeg. This is fantastic and I am so excited that we got this question.

REGIS: When are you not excited?

KELLY: Good point. But I'm excited about this question because it involves a family. Have I told you lately about my kids? They did the cutest thing...

REGIS: BLONDIE! Enough.. ask the question already!!!!

Question #5: While waiting for the parade to begin, you see a family where the father is bored, the mother is busy trying to keep her children in the basic area, the 3 year boy is running in circles yelling and the 9 year old girl is saying she is tired. You have one "award" to give -- who do you pick and why?

Karrie Dunkin's Response:

Okay...let's get right to the point. "Someone" was spying on my family and I during our last visit. Doug really wasn't THAT bored...he's just always fiddling with his Blackberry. Yes, Jake was running around and yelling and Riley was complaining about being tired (but she's only 7 and you must've missed Ella sleeping in the stroller). ;) Having been in this EXACT situation several times at the parks...I would definitely have to lavish the Dream Maker award on the mother because once she's granted a little magic...everything will fall into place. Do you think CMs can hand out spa packages?

PATRICK'S INDIVIDUAL QUESTION:

You have your own Podcast, and you’ve sold DVDs teaching people how to make their own Disney “cut-outs” How do you think becoming the Disney CMO would affect those two out-of-contest interests?

I love doing my podcast with all my heart. It's my way of sharing my passion and love for Disney with thousands and thousands of fellow Disney fans every month. I'd love to share with my listeners my experiences as CMO throughout the year, and invite them to join me at whichever park I may be visiting. If for whatever reason Disney asked me to step away from the show for the year, I know my listeners would understand, and I'd go right back to doing the show at the end of my year as CMO. As for the DVD, it was a fun project...I don't see a penny from them. The guy that sells them uses the profits to help support poor families living in the motels in and around Anaheim and I'd hate to see him have to stop selling those as well because I know the money generated really helps those families.

All that said, I'll abide by whatever Disney decides. I've always tried to create Disney magic for others...as CMO I just get the opportunity to do it directly for Disney.

This has been a fun experience. Thought provoking and fun hearing from other candidates.

We have people waiting for us to go EAT dinner. Vickie and I will talk to you tomorrow.

Thank you so much for putting this together.

Ok, showoff, THAT just got you some MORE votes from the birthday girl who actually had to skip dinner cause she had too many cake calories at lunch!!! :rotfl2:

MEGGIN'S INDIVIDUAL QUESTION:

You appear to be one of the youngest candidates. How do you think your age benefits your qualifications as CMO? Do you think there are any negatives?

First of all, thank you for the compliment! I think I'm actually older than Justin, but we're both young at heart!! I probably appear younger than I am because I definitely live my life in a constant refusal to truly "grow up" and be an adult. I think being young at heart allows me to open my energy and imagination to seemingly impossible pursuits--and I would do anything as a CMO to make people happy. I may appear naive, but I don't feel naive. I'm just an optimistic dreamer who hasn't forgot what it feels like to be a kid and see your parents as invincible and Disney as all things magical. I know that my toys do come to life at night, and I still kiss my stuffed animals before I go to sleep. I think feeling young at heart is what Walt Disney was all about. As I said before, I'm an optimistic dreamer, so it's hard for me to see negativity. If there are any negatives to being who I am, it's that my sense of wonder and idealism can be taken advantage of. I can't help it. I'd rather pursue things that I love and believe in and be betrayed and hurt than never take the leap at all. I know the possibility of failure is out there. I just don't choose to look down that path.

And Patrick, in the spirit of hunger, birthdays and you mentioning giving away food too, I will vote for you tonight as well!!!

I am an equal opportunity food supporter!!!

David (and Vickie), I'm so glad you came, thank you! I really liked hearing your thoughts and your perspective on all of this! :thumbsup2
