CM yelled at me about the codes...

Well, I called 2 wks ago and got CBR with the code, then we let the ressie go because my DH could not get off work. So I called back today, to make the ressie for 2 weeks later, and they wouldn't give me the code. I got rid of the postcard b/c I thought we couldn't go. I was so mad I asked to talk to a supervisor. She said she had to have the PIN. I had another supervisor, get on the line, told him to look at the previous ressie. He said, he saw the discount but basically too bad. So, I was fuming at this point, 10 year AP holder that I am, and said you really don't reward those who spend the most. He said I could use an AP discount, I argued that this postcard was better, and he said again, too bad. So, I asked to get back to the regular reservation lady and when I was telling this whole thing to a friend, he started to argue with me on the phone - AGAIN. I was so frustrated, I said he was rude and horrible and hung up... sorry so long, just not a magical day!

What happened to you is probably directly a result of people who have called claiming to have a PIN when they didn't actually have one and thus CRO is now not allowing anyone to book without the PIN. I would have thought they'd have entered the PIN though in your previous reservation and could thus just reinstate your reservation already having that information stored. Since people have said the PIN was attached to their name, is there any way you could call back and have them check your old ressie or your stored information to find it again? Did someone actually yell at you? If so, there's no excuse for rudeness. ---Kathy

Everybody is saying that the cr can see a pin attached to your name on the computer so call them back and ask them to check and see if there is a pin attached. That should clear it up right away.
Let us know how you make out

I'm presuming that '2 weeks later' means that it STILL falls within the dates on the postcard? Because.. they may have been saying one thing out loud.. but the reality may be your dates may no longer be within the dates applicable.

Double check.

Sounds like you had someone who may have spent the better part of their work day yesterday taking call after call with people trying to use the code who maybe should not have been trying.

Try to call again today -- much earlier in the day when folks answerning the phones are fresher and cheerier. Explain your situation. Describe the postcard you got in the mail. And ask if they can check to see if you have a code associated with your account. START the call this way.

I bet you'll get a lot further.

This is unfortunate.. But I'm betting it's more a bad CM than it is anything else.

that is why I SAVED my discount card and have already put it in my suitcase...with all the people that seem to be getting something for nothing, I do not blame Disney one bit for going this route!

Even without the pin they should be able to see the discount in your profile. Heck, I've had them pull up my profile and tell me all the discounts that were offered to me 2-3 years ago.

I'd call back and speak with someone else.

it had gone to an incorrect email account [they had an 'l' in my email that wasn't there] so I never received it I just called to check since I get lots of emails sent to my spam folder...

Every time I called the cms were able to see the code attached to my name....

If you get someone rude or clueless, make an excuse and call back ... [I once said I had an appointment and so sorry I'll have to call later, etc.] It' s such a shame that they are not consistent. But people are not consistent either. There is no reason for you to deal with rude people, call back until you get a nice CM. There are some really sweet ones.

With all this "pin sharing" its not fair to those who actually get them and have an issue like you did. I really hope it gets sorted out! What goes around comes around.....I want to hear if folks "without" the postcard get questioned when they eventually check in! Mine is in my Passporter!!

You can't share a pin. And if you want to talk about fairness -- why should you receive one, when others don't? Believe me, there is nothing "fair" about the system Disney uses to decide who is eligible for discounts and who isn't.

calypso a go go :) With all due respect....when I refenced the word "fair", it was relating to the OP...she had a pin, did not have it now, had to change ressies etc....had difficulty. When I reference "pin sharing" it was in fact something I read on another thread. Great question by the way...why did I receive one, don't know, you would have to ask Disney:)

I'm sorry...I guess I'm just in a fowl mood today. My son's been sick and has missed two weeks of school due to a chronic cough (this is his third flare-up since September -- been absent a total of 25 days!). I feel so sorry for the kid. Our whole family is suffering from sleep deprivation because of him being up half the night. Our doctor has tried everything he can think of from post-nasal drip, to asthma, to acid reflux. And still the coughing continues.

Anyway, sorry to get OT. I'm usually not so confrontation. :confused3

I honestly do feel that Disney would not allow people to receive the discount if they did not qualify in some way. Whether it's from more than one promo running at a time (and us being unaware of it), or some grand marketing scheme...just stop assuming those of us without a postcard or email are somehow cheating the system. All this talk of CM's getting fired, people showing up with no valid reservation and having to pay rack rate -- it's just crazy! :scared1:

Hey, not many people would admit they were "in a mood"! :) I hope your son will be feeling better soon...and everyone gets their sleep!! And, lots of time, meanings get lost in translation here I think. So have a great day!

People getting something for nothing? What exactly did you do to the receive your precious card besides walking out to the mailbox? Are you royalty of some kind?

I'm sorry, I don't mean to single out WDWVillain, but I'm getting a little peeved with the people that feel others should not be eligible for a discount. I called, asked, received the discount. I don't have a pin #, or a postcard. I am not a criminal but some of the people on these boards make it seem like myself, and others, should be banned from WDW because we don't have the "golden ticket" (or postcard!). And please don't quote how many times you've been or how much you've spent...cause let me tell you: been there, done that!

yes...maybe I am royalty! so GET peeved.....just makes me giggle!:lmao: and maybe you should be banned from WDW...I do not want to walk among the common...people

Villians...you're all alike !!! :teeth:

You just wait until I'm staying in Cindy's Castle during my discounted-without-sufficient-documentation-stay...if you're lucky I might just throw some crumbs down from my breakfast in the clouds.

And here I was worried this wouldn't have a happy ending.

:rolleyes1 :grouphug:

If by that you mean frozen, generally happy and frequently slightly drunk on high octane beer.. then I must plead...

GUILTY as charged.

I did this too...although, I highly doubt they will ask for it.
