Cm update on AP rates

I called CRO tonight because I had to modify my reservation for October. While I had the CM on the phone I brought up about the Fairytale package and how it wasn't doing us faithful AP holders any good. He said they have already been told that AP rates will be out and will include my dates, October 14-23. He said it was a little early to expect them but to keep checking as they are coming. I can only hope it will be soon!

Why would someone cancel their Fairytale packages if AP rates come out? Aren't the ones buying this package non AP holders anyway? I am an AP holder and there is no way I would have bought into the package when it included UPH. I do think it is a good deal for those that do not have APs though. I'm not being snide. I would really like to know what I've missed! I like a bargain to ya'know!

Because a lot of people (me included) have booked the FT package as a hedge against annual pass rates NOT being announced. I didn't renew or buy a new AP, (mine expired in Dec), but will if they announce new AP rates. I normally go at least twice a year.

The FT package is essentially the same cost as booking an AP rate (for example $250 a night at the GF) and then buying an AP. However with an AP rate, you don't get the passes for the length of stay, you get them for a year, (as you know cause you have one)... I guess it just depends on whether you will use an AP again.

We booked 10 days at the BC and would have saved $600 over getting AP's. Decided to go with AP's because DH and I are going back in October for a conference. I didn't think the AP rates were that great this year.

Thanks for the enlightment! I never thought of that. I did renew my AP three weeks ago for that trip. We are also going back in October and next April. We try to get 30 days out of our APs so that is why I never considered this new package. We also stay at least 10 days at a time so even that wouldn't work. It would be nice if they come out with something whether it is an APrate or public code. Time will tell!
