When we were entering MK for MNSSHP a CM was putting an armband on DD. He asked me how old she was and I replied that she was 3. He then proceded to thank me (a lot) for being honest about her age.

I would rather have that feeling than saving a few bucks and lying about her age. :)

*LOL* It's funny at the reactions you get when you pay for your child who is just over the "line". This summer, Brittany and I went to our big Oyster Festival. Children under 5 are free. She is 5. When we went to the gate to buy the tickets, I said "2 please". The lady looked kind of confused and started to say she's free, then asked how old she was. I said 5, doesn't she need a ticket? Her ticket was only $3, and it's a non-profit very NICE yearly event, so I don't mind paying.

It's just funny the reactions you get.

I'm proud of you. Good for that CM for acknowledging your honesty.

It was nice that CM did say something to you also and I to want to say I'm proud of you also fellow Diser.::yes:: :wave2:

Great going!

Nice to hear that CMs are acknowledging guests doing the right thing:)

We got a 'double wammy' so to speak as far as purchasing passes goes this time around,lol...

Our youngest son is now 3, and our oldest son is now 10.
So, for our upcoming trip in December, we've gotten a child's
3-9 hopper pass, and an 10+ adult hopper pass for our oldest.

Did the same for their MVMCP passes, too. Maybe we'll get complimented, too,lol...

That's great!!!! I've had a few CM look perplexed when I entered MK with my DD and handed them a ticket for her and she was just 3 years and 2 weeks old...and in a stroller. They also looked perplexed when we went to MNSSHP when she was 3 years and 2 weeks old.

Good for you!::yes::

When we went last November, DS turned 3 during the trip. I asked if I would need tickets for the last 2 days because he would then be over 3. I also asked when making PS because I would have to pay for him after that point. They knew it was legit because I had birthday stuff planned for him and I had asked about the birthday pin. All the CMs I spoke with were very nice and told me not to worry about it, it was only 2 days of our vacation.

Good for you for setting a great example for your dd. I would hate to be the person that gets caught trying to sneak my over age child in on no pass. How embarrassing!

Jenn Lynn,
We teach our children more by what we do than by what we say. You are setting a great example for your daughter.
:D

Good for you!

I have no problem paying the correct admission price for my child's age. I admit, however, that I have trouble when it comes to paying for food. One of our daughters will be an "adult" for Disney buffet purposes during our upcoming trip; she eats next to nothing. I know for a fact that when we go through the buffet line she will take something like 2 chicken nuggets, a small spoonful of mac and cheese and a bit of pudding...very hard to pay $23.99 for that.

I agree with the food prices. It's a little hard to pay the buffet price when she eats 3 bites! LOL! I try to remember we were mainly there for the characters.

We did a lot of meal sharing also. She loved my steak at LeCellier. :)

I'm in the same boat with a light picky eater so if I'm not willing to pay the buffets prices, I just don't book them. But I do book the buffets for meeting the characters and I book the H&V for the Fantasmic package knowing that I'm wasting money on my picky light eater...it's my choice.

I agree the food prices are very expensive!! My DD just turned 10 and she literally ate 2 chicken nuggets for $23.99!!! When I posted this last year and said that I told the restuarant that she was 9.............boy did I get flamed on this board!!! I felt that I wasn't cheating anyone. Please don't flame me again.......I haven't done that since:D

Jenn Lynn - add my name to the list of those thanking you for your honesty. As someone who works on the turnstiles, I really don't appreciate when someone lies to my face about how old their child is.

Add another who is proud. I never lie about my kids' ages. I don't want to set that example.

I thought all the buffets charged child's prices up to age 12?

Not that I ever would but whenever my daughter was that age she would always yell out her age whenever I was asked so I never would have gotten away with it if I wanted to. (I strictly cannot ask my daughter to lie for me to save money when I expect her not to lie to myself or others)::yes::

My mother is another story....she would always try to "fib" about my daughter's age to save on tickets/buffets not at WDW but local businesses. Without fail, my daughter would holler out "Nuh-Uh Grandma - I am 3 remember!":p

My mother would proceed to fake a memory issue and end up paying anyway. To this day it still cracks me up!

When we have eaten at Trails End and the server saw how little my picky eater ate, he had his charge for the buffet taken off our bill. Sometimes if you mention it, they may be willing to take it off. Not that I would expect it but it is a nice gesture and does seem fair.
