DW and I will be celebrating our 30th Anniversary this Oct with part of the trip shared with my BIL/SIL who we actually get along with. We have had some great CM interactions during our last few trips, and with this trip being more than special for the two of us, we know Disney CM's will be as much if not more magical for us.

Simply saying 'Thank you' doesn't seem enough, so DW and I will be handing out these two sided CM Thank You Cards when we feel they have done more than a great job. A dime may not go far economically, but I'm sure it will buy a whole lot of smiles.

I have 40 of these cards made up, so that will be about 4 a day we hand out. It may not seem like much, but having been on the receiving end of simple unexpected personalized Thank You's before, I know there will be many appreciative CM's come this Oct.

I hope my sharing of this helps others in their own way become inspired to thank the CM's for their excellent efforts and the magic that they bring to us all.

NOTE: I also posted this in Just Say Thanks forum, but the image would only appear as a link.

Wow, I think it's a nice idea!

Congratulations to the two of you!

very cool, I know it doesn't seem like much but i think you will get a positive response from the CMs. Especially after dealing with some real "winners" on a regular basis.
May be you could also take their names and email Disney after you are home and thank the CMs you encountered.

I love it! Dh and I have experienced wonderful CM's through the years and I love the idea of carrying cards around to hand out.

Also, like previously mentioned, writing to WDW to commend a CM is a wonderful thank you. I have heard that Disney really pays attention to positive comments about CM"s.

You also can fill out a Fanatic card about your great experience with a CM. These cards are available at Guest Relations or a manager if one is near. CM's are then recognized by Disney managemment.

I will start getting some of these at the start of our trip, so that I make sure I commend cm's during our stays.

I am already thinking how I can recognize the Cms that do a great job. For sure will ask for some Fantastic cards to have for the trip.

You may want to correct it to "you're a 10 in our eyes."

You beat me to it! And eye's should be eyes.

Op may want to fix the typos before handing them out :)

That is super sweet of you guys.

It also looks like you misspelled anniversary. You left off the "r".

I'm hoping that I'm misreading your post and that the card is not the only thing you're giving. I think it's a very nice touch as long as it's done in conjunction with a generous monetary tip. If I was someone who waited on you in some capacity, if I only received a dime for my efforts I would feel extremely insulted.

Just food for thought.

Thank you. I feel the same way, but was much too cowardly to say so.

I think the goal of the OP is to show appreciation to those CMs that don't receive tips. Those CMs that go out of their way to make a vacation extra special!

Why don't they receive tips? If they can receive a picture of 2 strangers and a dime, can't they receive a $5 or $10 bill instead?

Sometimes they can't. Think of a cm working sales in a store, who may do an outstanding, wonderful job and make you feel very special...I doubt they're allowed to accept a tip. Probably cm's working the attractions lines can't either. If I'm wrong, please correct me. I think OP was using these wonderful cards as a way to thank cm's who aren't in a tipping position.

Absolutely!! We are very generous tippers as well as using the TIW card which is an automatic 18%. These 'Thank You' Cards are for all the exceptional CM's we will run across; from the Security guards, Mousekeeper, Park personnel, boat drivers, front desk, dining, etc., etc., regardless of whether they are in a 'tipping compensation' position or not. On one of our tours, the CM Guide stated that all tips received (except dining staff), the CM's have to turn over to a fund which is then used for all the CM's in some fashion. The '10 cents' on a personalized Thank You card is well within the CM tip policy for that CM to keep.

Here are some real examples from last year trips which if we had had Thank You Cards, we would have handed out:

1) We're exhausted and walking around MK looking for water. We come up to a kiosk and ask to buy some water. CM see's my DW is ready to expire and just gives us a bottle, no charge saying, 'You need this more than I do' with a lovely smile. BAM!! She gets a card!

2) We're in the Wave eating breakfast for our last day, and DD expresses how much she loves the tea she ordered and where might she buy some. Waitress comes by and gives her about 10 tea bags at no charge, along with a lovely smile! BAM!! She gets a card!

3) We're on a Disney bus going to DHS. A very unruly family gets on, and is giving the bus driver a lot of grief, holding up the bus and causing a scene. [Disclaimer: I know, this never happens at WDW, and most will think I just made it up. :woohoo:] We watch with curious awe at how calmly the bus driver handles the situation, actually calms the family down and proceeds to DHS while adding a few Disney Factoids and well crafted jokes. We make sure we're the last to leave the bus, and let the bus driver know that we we're impressed with his professional style and demeanor in handling the situation. BAM!! He gets a card!

To the PP's: Yes, we will stock up on Fantastic Cards and provide feedback. Thank you for reminding us.

Typo's and punctuation errors: Congratulations - You have all passed the alertness test. :thumbsup2 However, the cards are already made and set aside for the trip. Let's just say the 'error's' add a human element. PS - DW proofed these, so I can no longer be held accountable.
