hey all.
i searched for an answer here, but i'm not sure i've seen anything that answers my question exactly. here's the deal...
we reserved the 4+3 deal in a 2 bedroom at SSR with my family of 5 and my mil and fil. despite the fact that we all have tickets from previous visits, my immediate family was planning on using the package tickets this trip (and saving our other non-activitated tickets for another trip). My inlaws, on the other hand, would like to use their non-expiring tickets from their previous trip, as they are not sure they'll do WDW again. Our plan was to purchase their tickets for them and save them to use on another trip for ourselves (as they would not be activating the tickets).
when i went to pay for the package this AM, i was discussing this plan with the CM and was told that she was "pretty sure that the tickets on a package must be used within 14 days of the checkin date". i asked her to verify this and she put me on hold and came back and said that she did speak with someone in the ticketing department and that her info was, in fact, correct.
SOOOOO....i know those of you with APs have gotten 1 day base tix. have any of you been told that you can't save the tix for later?
IF this is the case, i was also reading about some of you that have added adults onto the ressie at check-in...that works? (my inlaws don't need ME, have tickets, and the 2bdrm. unit we are in sleeps 8, so we wouldn't exceed occupancy--obviously as they are currently booked in it with us
)
it won't be the end of the world if they save their current passes and use the package tickets, but as i mentioned, they don't think they'll be going back again...this will be the 3rd time we've dragged them down there with us and dear fil is the kind of guy that says in all seriousness, "why would i want to ride (insert ride name) again?!? i've already been on it!"
i guess i'm wondering if i can expect to be able to call back and hear what i want to hear, eventually, from a CM (which is that we can put inlaws package tix on a separate tix from the room key and save them for a later date).
by the way, what is the final word on how to make the key and tix separate on a package? request it at check-in, or do it another way?
thanks for any help!
