CM"s - Save the ducklings at POP

Wow, that makes me so happy that the CMs at Pop did so much to save them!

When I took a tour at AK, I was surprised to hear that not only do they use the vet hospital at AK for the animals from there and Epcot, but also for animals they find injured along the roads nearby!

I think I posted this somewhere else but when we were there in 2004 we saw a momma duck and her babies on the other side of the wrought iron fence at the bus stop in front of Magic Kingdom. The momma was very distressed and kept herding the babies away from the fence and then would walk back over by this bush. Well, there was a meter hole that should have had a cover over it and one of her babies had fallen in and couldn't get out. I lifted my son, who was four at the time, over the fence and he walked over to the hole, gently pulled out the baby and put it on the ground in front of the mommy duck. She quickly herded him over to the other babies and they took off in a line quacking. It happened to be our last day and we were leaving to go home - it made us all feel good to know that we helped the duckies, but especially my son, because everyone watching applauded him!

We were informed that the ducklings would be taken to the AK hospital for treatment and would be released at some point.

geesh I just noticed I spelled a few words wrong in the initial story(stupid)

Anyway we took a lot of pictures over the two days of the rescue teams

that showed up was going to send them along to a newspaper with a little

story but then I thought maybe they wsere skipping their jobs, so I didnt.
