I didn't say it was. You seem to think I said things I didn't. Tell ya what....next time I won't believe my lying eyes.

No, I only reply according to what you say. I do not question what you saw, I was not there, I however do not see a logic in conclusions you draw from it, and since they are offencive, I do not think it is appropriet to ask people to test it. After all, you knew your original post was not appropriet, you new you will be flamed. Why surprised.

Do us all a favor and let it drop...please.

Can we get back to the original idea of the post? And maybe get back some sense of humor as well?

Seriously, when nothing else to say, it is always comes to personal attacks. So why don't you take your own advice and stop responding to anyone who found your post off and there where plenty on this thread.

Personal attacks????.......:rolleyes1

Hopefully, there is not a trend to be pickier about pins. The beauty of the system is that its friendly to kids and they don't have to be embarrassed or nervous to talk to CM's. An experience like this would have destroyed it for my DD. My middle child got over his bad experience within a few hours.

So, you really cannot take your own advice, right?

Why do I feel like I'm in that M*A*S*H episode where Hawkeye says he doesn't have to get in the last word yet always does :rotfl:

I wish you well Kelly...let this just be one of those cases where we aren't going to agree and move on :hippie:

Well, hopefully, this was just a grouchy CM and things remain the same :goodvibes.

Wish you well too. Ouch, you wanted last word, sorry, I messed it up. Had to wish you all the best as well. You can reply with a smiley.:)

Back to topic, I am new to trading, are all pins awailable to trade, I mean, I heard some are more rare then others, can you trade it or CM may refuse? I do not know the rules.

As I understand it, any pin on a CM's lanyard, book, etc. is available to trade. They sometimes have a few mystery pins turned backward that are fun to trade for. All of the CM's trade with kids and no pin should be turned away because of a small flaw. I've even traded a little bit for fun - we like to look for certain types, characters, or whatever. Its turned into a treasure hunt for us.

That is interesting. Couple of years ago, 4 pins were a gift with our package and we completely forgot about them till last day. We just gave them to the first family with a child. Last trip we actually bought couple, but never traded. Are there any books, catalogs or something where we can find what is a "hot find". I think it would be a fun extra activity.

I'm probably going to get flamed for this but here goes.....you didn't describe the woman CM who refused to trade but my Wife and I have learned (my wife actually first noticed this) to avoid any female CMs who have super short haircuts. I'm not sure if that tends to mean they are former police or military but they tend to be EXTEMELY strict and pretty unfriendly. If you don't believe me then send one family member through the bag check that has a CM not matching this description and then you go through the line with the short-haired woman and see who gets everything short of a body cavity search.

:rotfl2: Thanks I needed that!

There are tons and tons of pins - check out pinpics.com to browse a mostly complete catalog of them.

There are limited editions made, which are supposedly more valuable or whatever, but honestly, to our family, it's much cooler to find an older (i.e. not for sale) pin of a character that we like than it is to buy some limited edition pin.

My DD loves to pin trade. She used to fill her lanyard with both her traders and those she traded for (keepers). Now in our world, once you get a pin you have a tendency to keep it forever.
In order to avoid all the confusion, we keep the pins she wishes to trade facing out and the ones she is keeping facing in.
When we get a chance to sit down and relax we then remove the keepers and replace them with new traders. Works like a charm. :thumbsup2

I think i'm more worried and DD will get turned away...
It would break her heart... :sad2:

Now if it did happen i of course would give up a pin off my lanyard.. but i have to admit it would make me mad:mad:.. that a CM would turn down a 4 year old..
BTW
We don't trade for those rare pins, just the ones we like.. & all our pins have been well taking care of, and maybe 2 or 3 have minor flaws.. like the kind on the cinderella one.. so it not like its a major flaw..

This happened to me for the first time at DL in June!:scared1: The CM handed my pin back and said it wasn't a tradeable pin - I was like "what?" - it had the disney stamp on the back. She proceeded to lecture me about all the 'fake' pins going around and how people are trying to cheat by trading them for 'real' pins - she was not nice (or quiet) about it and I felt like she was accusing ME of cheating the system. Yikes! I felt like a chastized child in front of the class :lmao:! I had her look through my traders and pick out one she would accept. Put a big damper on trading for me as I don't know enough about pins - or care to - to have to start investigating the pins I get - I just like to trade for a few each trip that catch my eye.
Over many many years I have spent a small fortune on pins when DS was younger and traded pins like a mad man - it was such a fun experience for him and he has a really great collection. Too sad if it is going to go this way.:sad2:
