CM RAte and wedding

Hi I have a contact where I can get a cast member rate, does disney weddings get mad about this? Also for any of you out there how many rooms can they get for others at a lower price in a year. I feel badly about asking him over and over....but 40% off at the Beach Club, ya can't beat it!

I am a CM. We can only get 3 rooms per night. However, the CM MUST be present when you check in and show their ID or they will not honor the discounted rate and will charge you full price for the room. Disney told me I can use my rate for my wedding and that there was no problem using it. Hope this helps.

THanks- he usually faxes his id over and that has worked in the past. Are you limited on the number of rooms per year?

Thats nice that they let him do that! Everytimei have stayed they have made me go show it. You are not limited on the number of rooms a year. Just the 3 rooms a night.

Does this only apply if you work for Disney World or could i say get a job w/ the Disney store in NYC (which is huge by the way if any one lives in the metro area....it's bigger than almost any store on Disney property) and still get these benefits?

Just a thought I could work at Disney one or two days a week hmm....

I work for ABC (which of course is owned by Disney) and I get that same discount. If that Disney Store in NYC is still owned by Disney then yes you can get a discount. What it is I don't know. Disney Store INC, was sold last year to Childrens Place so they are not owned by Disney anymore. I believe that The World of Disney in NYC is still owned by Disney just like the one at Downtown Disney. Each branch of the Disney family gets different types of discounts so it just depends. Not sure if PT employees get the same thing.

I have also always had to have my ID with me to get a discount. They have been very strict about that. It says right on the Disney Portal rules that the cast member must be present to get the discount. I was was unable to get my discount once at Dinner because I forgot my ID in my room.

oh, when did they start doing this???? if they were doing this around the time we had our wedding, i'm gonna be very upset. 40% off the room??? uughhghh! i think i'm gonna cry.

He works at orlando and is corporate, for all I know he may be one of the hotel managers (I am not sure what he does- maybe he is mickey). I guess it is ok because he faxes it from work on Disney property to another disney owned place. I could see them having a problem with Jo Blow from the disney store in Dallas Texas faxing their id....or not having the id for a food discount, I mean if they had a problem he could just run over there....so maybe it is different because he is there?Please don't get him in trouble

I'm just trying to get the night of our vow renewal at a different resort than the kids and having a hard time justifying the extra $$$. But, 40% off, would make it more palatable!

No worries... Your just lucky. I would never get another cast member in trouble. I am glad that he is able to help you out... See my ID is an ABC ID so they have to go through NYC to get a copy of it, so I can see how it would be easier for him to help ya. It would take forever to get a copy of mine... Plus I am always there when it is used anyway cause I am the Disney Addict of my family.
