I called this morning to make a reservation for Pop Century, and I got a kick out of the CM. He was nice, and he did a great job, but he was obviously not a fan of the value resorts. I asked for the AP rate for Pop Century, and he said, "Have you been to the Pop Century before? You understand what the theming is all about?" I told him yes, and he said, "Have you stayed in any of our value resorts before?" When I told him yes, he said, "Well, now you know that this resort is no different than any of them, don't you?" Again, yes and told him we were fine with the value resorts. He said, kinda in bewilderment, "Okay, if that's what you're looking for. . ."

It was just kinda funny. It was obviously not a hotel he would have recommended. We'll try the deluxe resorts one day, but with our kids right now, we spend zero amount of time in our room, so all we really need is a bed.

*sigh*

Pop Century *IS* different than the All-Stars... at least, in my opinion we are. One of our secret goals is to have the highest Guest Satisfaction Rating of the values. (Well, actually of all resorts)

People seem to like Pop Century a bit better than the All-Stars. Perhaps it's because it's newer... or perhaps the service is better... or perhaps it's just cooler. But for whatever reason, even if it's just a place to crash at night, Im sure you'll enjoy your stay. :)

Oh, I'm really looking forward to both of my trips to Pop Century - one in February and then again in March. My DD thinks it looks cool - she's looking forward to the Pop Jets - and I'm hoping for less of a walk to get to the room, as well as not sharing the buses. I was just kinda surprised at how he was so obviously "prejudiced" against the value resorts - not just this one in particular. Don't get me wrong - he wasn't rude - he just seemed surprised that we preferred to stay there.

That CM may need a little more training in controlling the nuances of his delivery...even if HE doesn't prefer the Pop, his attitude might be deflating for some guests.

Have fun kbkids.:)

I really think he was just trying to make sure we weren't disappointed, but like you said, he probably should have worded it a little better. We would never be able to afford to go as often as we do if we stayed deluxe every time - would be nice - but there are still bills to pay at home. :(

Tyler, you are such a sweetie. It's people like you -- with such a wonderful attitude -- that WILL make Pop Century a great place to stay. Way to go!
