CM hung up on me!!

Sure.

Why the heck do you want to send AE "free money" in advance of the trip?
Why not put the "extra" $500 IN THE BANK?

:goodvibes

While I understand the idea of minimizing the aftershock of your cc bill, Robo makes a good point. :earsboy:

I wasn't asking them about putting money on the card- I was asking if they take American Express- and yes, I have paid over on my American Express before. My mother gave me $500 and I'd rather put it on the card and charge everything- therefore I have less cash to keep up with and can keep up with charges.

Did you just ask "do you accept American Express for charging?" or did you give the whole convoluted story that you described in your original post? Because honestly, I had no idea what you were trying to ask from your original post and I can understand how a CM would be confused by your question if you phrased it anything like your original post.

Remember, although you're excited about your vacation and want to share even the minute details with everyone, sometimes it is best to just ask the direct question instead of giving the backstory along with it. "Can I use my American Express card at my resort?" is a direct, simple question which should elicit a direct, simple answer of yes or no.

As far as the CM "hanging up" on you, I think it is more likely just a slip of the hand. Despite what some people think, it isn't a training issue, some people just aren't as perfect as others  and do make occasional mistakes. Especially if CRO has a computerized phone system. I've worked on systems where the phone directory for tranfers has a button located adjacent to the call release button. Someone bumping into your chair as you were clicking your mouse to pull up the directory could cause your hand to slide just enough to click on the release button by accident. Heck, most of the CM's work in Florida and even though I've also lived in Florida for a few years, I still flinch when a roll of thunder claps directly overhead. I can easily see accidents happening but then I try to believe the best in people so I tend to be more willing to chalk something like that up to an accident rather than a deliberate action.

They have hung up on me many times :sad2: I call guest services before i go to the parks and ask them if certain characters are coming out that day and sometimes they get frustrated because they think they know everything and i try to correct them so they hang up on me, for exp, ill ask them if hercules and kermit the frog will be coming out and then theyll answer they have never been disney characters and they NEVER come out in the parks for meet and greets, but thats a lie kermit comes out everyday in the parade and people have pictures with him! well actually its the same person every time. i know her voice so next time i talk to her ill make sure i get her name right. :stir:

Just for comparison, I stayed at Bellagio (not exactly inexpensive!!@*&) in Las Vegas. I walked up to a cash changer booth in the casino. The lady looks at her co worker and says, "Do you want to help him?". Co worker says, "No." First lady says, "You will have to go somewhere else". I did. I went back home to Florida and forgave every misdeed, malaprop, and slight rudeness I have ever felt at Disney.

I hope you went to the manager's office first!!

If that was your attitude on the phone, believe me, I'd hang up on you so fast your head would spin. You didn't want answers you just wanted to harass the CM. Sometimes we get just what we deserve. It's not rudeness, it's justice!
