I never posted a follow up to this, but the clumsy waiter was funny. If we had to do it over again, we'd have opted for a character. Our guests weren't entirely sure how to take the waiter..they didn't know if he had some sort of developmental problem..or if it was "okay" to laugh. They didn't realize he was entertainment. We had to actually tell a couple people so that people would feel more at ease. He did things like almost drop a tray, take a plate for someone and try to load up their plate for them (with a lot of drama), played around with the volume of the music, act as if he was going to steal the wedding cake. He didn't talk though, which I think contributed to the guests being unsure of how to take the waiter. Also, the actual service staff wanted to be very clear that the waiter did not represent the service of "Disney", since he was very clumsy. It was a bit awkward..but a few guests (and us) really enjoyed it.
