I'm sure it was wonderfully appropriate for its time since it did open in the early 70's when poly was all the rage, but we've really grown and matured as a nation, and as vacationers since then. I still have some of that stuff tucked away in the back of my closet, but I'm just saving them up just in case disco makes a big comeback. To be honest, I don't think I could fit into any of it any more. So I guess I'm really holding on to it all just for sentimental reasons. My poly smells funny these days.

They've torn out the green floor tiles at the Poly and redone the pool. They've even got lots of non-smoking rooms now! It certainly seems like they've been making an effort to modernize everything. Why they choose to leave the name as it is just silly, in my humble opinion. Poly is out! I'm thinking they could call it the Khaki. Or maybe even the Chamois! Now, doesn't that sound much more inviting and modern?? If all else fails, they could call it the Cotton. That's classic and won't ever go out of style.

In any case, this The Walt Disney World consumer thinks that it is high time for a change!

This is the another in a series of honest and objective looks into The Walt Disney World by your humble servant, clueless adventurer. I hope to stimulate lots of stimulating stimulation about The Walt Disney World. Thank you for your kind attention!

Blasphemy! It was enough when they took the "Village" out of the name.;)

I want it all back the way it was circa 1976. Especially those big old Tiki glasses. And swimming at the Poly beach.

As Tevye would have said it "Tradition!";) :D

You know how many polyesters had to be killed to make these outfits?

(And yes, I look there ) ;)

Denim could work too!
