clueless about steps of trip

after paying for the dcl cruise, what's next? we get the documents and send them back to dcl? luggage tags? we put them on our luggage? i have no clue...can anyone help me?

First off, welcome to the boards.....You're in the right place!

Relax, everything is so easy. I, too, stressed about our first Disney cruise. These boards will be a wealth of information and comfort to you.

You'll receive your docs (I got mine thru UPS). At that point, there are forms inside the booklet that each person will fill out or you can do this for them. Each booklet will have 2 luggage tags in the middle of them. These you will tear out right before you leave and attach to the handle of your bags. You only get two each because that's the amount of checked bags you're allowed per person.

The docs go with you to the terminal where, when it's time for you to baord, you will stand in line and then, along with everyone in your party, present them to the cast member behind a really long desk.

Forgot to say I got my docs about 6 weeks before cruise time. Some people were still waiting at the 2 week mark!!!

Get really excited. Are you traveling the day before or the day of? The reason I ask is, if you are traveling the day before you do not want to put the DCL tags on your luggage. You will need to wait until you go to the port and drop them off. You don't want your luggage to be taken too early. Traveling the day ahead is a good idea and strongly recommended by most on these boards if you can do it. Saves the headache of worrying about airline/weather delays, traffic, etc.

Have you decided on transportation? You may want to use Disney transfers or book a limo. Research shore excursions.

Fill out the docs and keep them handy. Make sure you have your identification in order. Birth certificates or passports.

Make a cruise CD with some favorite songs. There are lists on these boards with a lot of the songs played onboard.

Set up a countdown timer.

Have a great time.
