Kudos to the Team on today's podcast with their great review of Club Villain! If I was going to be in WDW this Spring, I think I would spring for a ticket to do this. While I'm not jaded about WDW's hard ticket events, I am incredibly skeptical. I do very few and don't automatically hand over my cash trusting I will receive value for my dollar. I have been to enough Food & Wines to know that there are too many WDW hard ticket events on offer that are pure & simple cash grabs. No argument there. To date, I have done 3 hard tickets or extra cost tours including Wild Africa Trek at AK (in the first month it was offered so great rate), Behind the Seeds at Epcot (inexpensive) and 1 MNSSHP. I have also done a couple of the $10 F&W deminars but given the price point on those and the limited time commitment, they don't really make the cut. Generally, I believe I pay enough for my WDW vacation including park admission without the need to throw more money at the Mouse. However, this looked worthwhile. Particularly in comparison with something like Trader Sams. I'm a fan of Sams but when I go, I easily spend $30 on 1 drink (with souvenir glass) + tip. No food. At Club Villain, I could enjoy a couple of specialty themed drinks, decent food & entertainment. I agree with Steve completely when he suggested that this should be a regular event held at Atlantic Dance Hall. What a wonderful use of that tired old venue. And given all the nearby guests at Boardwalk, Yacht & Beach Club, (plus Swan & Dolphin) they would practically have a captive audience. I truly hope the powers that be at WDW watch the podcast and/or follow the Boards and this becomes a reality. ps happy for Pete that the Voodoo Sticky Pig Wings were very good after all. :-)

Haven't gotten to the Club Villain review portion of the show yet, but I did see the part where Steve will be leaving, and I wanted to say I wish him good luck and God speed, and I'm extremely touched he's "doing it for love", and I hope his young lady deserves him, and life brings him all the happiness he deserves. I also hope he will be able to keep his current thought to keep up his insightful and intelligent writing I have so enjoyed (although not at the same prolific pace!) :) once working and having a new life get into full gear after his move. He has made an excellent addition to The Team in a short time, and I'll miss him, while wishing him well!

Loved the review and hope it will still be running in May when we go. It will be pricey fo4 our family, as there are 6 of us, but it seems worth it when watching the review. Hope they continue this event!

Wonderfully well put, @SorcererHeidi! Steve, it seems we just started to get to know you! But your articles have been absolutely first class. Some of the best written, concise, pithy little essays I have ever read. You have a real gift for writing. You will do well & land on your feet wherever you choose to hang your hat. Best wishes!

So after listening to the podcast today I tried to make Club Villain reservations - we'll be there in less than 2 weeks so short lead time I know. On my computer there was space for us at 815 on 3/26 but when I went to book it was at full price - I am both an annual pass holder and DVC member so there was a slight discount. So I called - the first agent I got was utterly clueless. I called back - and then the opportunity to book was gone - there was no more space :( Guess I saved the $300. any ideas how to have booked via the computer?

The review was amazing, it was a lot of to fun to watch the gang enjoy this special event! My favourite review for 2016 so far!! #voodoostickypigwings

After the stellar review on the podcast, I am considering adding this to my May trip. Pete mentioned the hope was that the discount for AP holders and DVC owners would be extended beyond March, but does anyone have a sense for when we might have info on that? I just looked and there are slots available for my dates, but no mention anywhere of possible discounts. Thanks!

I was really glad to hear this event get such a great review from the team, even though it isn't something that has been on our radar or plans to do ourselves. I just like hearing that Disney got it right.

We have never attended any hard ticketed Disney events. We've never been to the Halloween or Christmas parties. We've never been to Club Villain or anything like it. The only extra cost things we have done have been a backstage tour years ago (when the prices were much more reasonable) and an Illuminations cruise.

Part of me can't help thinking they aren't worth the price, but then I remind myself that I have no trouble buying Broadway show tickets where I'll spend $300 for a couple of hours of entertainment so what's the difference really? I guess I just feel like there is so much to do at Disney that is included in the ticket price already I don't see the need to spend hundreds more on top of that. It would be nice if they could have things like Club Villain somewhere outside of the parks so that you wouldn't also need to pay park admission for that day. That would make it a much better deal.
