If you reserve a club level room, you get turn down service, bath robes, and free access to the club lounge where they serve breakfast, afternoon snacks, and an evening sampling. There is also soda & water available all day. I think they have beer and you can get mixed drinks (these you must pay for).
There may be other benefits, but that is all I know of.
you also get concierge service. BUT it is nothing like disney concierge!! if you need PS just call yourself. last year at the HRH club level we asked if we could buy concert tickets at the Hard Rock and they said they couldnt do that.... they also said that the people in universal thought the loews hotel guests get to many perks and will go out of their way to make your wait for a table as long as possible! ( can you belive that??? ) i will not be back until oct so i dont know if this has changed or not ( i hope so, hubby wont stay at anything less than concierge )
oh, and you get 1/2 cabannas! and free fitness center
Thanks so much for the info. I applied for Loews card. I called the PBH and gave them my number. I was reading another thread the guest said that the hotel offered him an upgrade for $34.oo to club service because of his loews card. I was wondering if that was per night? Did you ever here of that before?
Yes, this happens sometimes. If they have availability, they might offer a club upgrade for a certain amount of $ and yes, it is per night. Usually club rooms run 80-100$ more than a standard, so 34/night is good....
Thanks for the info. I will see if the upgrade is available when we check in. Do you know of any discounts for restaurants? I am trying to get hold a fan club card but I am running into some obstacles. My place of employment is looking into it but it might be some time.
I recently posted this info on another thread but I thought it might help you here. PBH no longer offers cabana discounts. They also no longer offer an upgrade for a certain amount per day for club services. Club level there can only be reserved for and it is full price. What I mean is it cannot be combined with other offers. For example, if you booked a deluxe room with an entertainment, fan club, or AAA rate you cannot pay the difference and receive club service. You also cannot reserve a pool or some other view and pack rack rate and then add on the difference per day for club. Club rooms are one price and it must be reserved at time of booking and YES I know this stinks. Perhaps HRH and RPH are still allowing it so you may want to check into it. Anyone know???
OK so here is the deal. I booked our stay as a package on the Universal web site. (Duh...I know..I could have done better, but discovered it too late) I have a Lowes card and an Entertainment card from L.I. I am getting a Fan club card from my neighbor (hopefully)....My room is a double...bay view. Does anyone think there is any chance of getting an upgrade and to what extent?
Beer and Wine are served at 5PM every day (at HRH at least) at NO CHARGE - it is part of your club level amenity.
HRH Club Room open til 10:30 PM
1-Breafast til 10AM
2-Lunch
3-Dinner served at 5PM
4-Cookies or other sweets served every evening
5-Soda/Water available all day (til 10:30 PM)
6-above mentioned beer and wine available afternoons
plus what others have mentioned (1/2 price cabanas etc) which we did not take advantage of.
We stayed HRH Club level last week. It was worth it only because we upgraded at check-in. I wouldn't pay the full price or even their special rates. It doesn't compare to Disney at all.
They weren't very friendly, the lounge is small. And the biggest thing is the lounge closes its doors at 11:00p.m. and doesn't open until 7:30 A.M. I am a early riser 6-6:30 when I'm in Disney.
Thhe Disney concierge all have open rooms you can sit and watch some TV and have a drink any time of day.
i personally didn't find HRH concierge staff very friendly either- there were a couple of very nice staff people in the club but for the most part they almost made me feel it was an imposistion on my part for asking for anything extra
RPR club had cookies, and bags of chips out all day- where as HRH just had the food out at the desiginated times- RPR also had real silver ware and plates but HRH just had plastic everything- didn't make a difference, just a nicer touch
As to the discounts at restaurants questions, I know that Hard Rock Cafe in City Walk at Universal, we received a discount by showing our CAA (AAA) card....I believe it was about 10%. Also used my card in the gift shops at City Walk for a 10% discount.
Thanks for the info. I was thinking of calling to see if I can get an upgrade with my Lowes card. I wonder if Columbus Day weekend will be crowded. Anyone else going that weekend?
Any holiday weekend will be crowded at USO. Also, they don't upgrade to club level through Loews First. If you really wan't club but don't want to pay full price try and upgrade at check-in. If club is available they usually charge a fee from $50-$90/night to upgrade. This is usually cheaper than if you actually booked a club room. Enjoy!
If you are paying a qualified rate then they will upgrade you at check-in to a deluxe room at PBH as long as one is available. I am always upgraded at PBH. I don't even know what a standard garden or bay view room looks like.
I would let them know about the Birthdays ahead of time by giving the hotel a call at 407-503-1000. Then bring it up again at check-in. They usually send something up to the room for Birthdays but it all depends on the person checking you in. They are the ones who choose what to send up.
I called the hotel about a possible upgrade and upcoming birthdays. They did not have my Lowes card on file and could no enter it since I had booked through Universal Vacations. The woman told me to call UV, which I did. They had my # on file. She said that they don't send over the ressies until a few days before hand. When I asked about a possible upgrade and Bday's, she directed me to the hotel consierge. I called them and they she could say nothing about an upgrade or bdays, other than if I wanted a dinner ressie! I am thinking I should call back a few days before we are sched. to leave. What do you think?
make sure that it is mentioned on your ressie that you are celebrating two birthdays. When you check-in make sure they have your Loews First number on your ressie. Also mention again about the Birthdays. If you are paying a qualified rate then you are entitled to an upgrade to a deluxe room if one is available at check-in. They won't be able to upgrade you ahead of time. Also, I am not sure if booking through Universal Vacations entitles you to your Loews First privelages. Maybe someone else can clarify this.
