Club Level Turndown Service?

Did you requested that? I had the feeling that GF offered turndown for each rooms.

(Disney trivia: the Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris offer turndown for each and every guests, and is the only resorts to do so. I was thinking this is the same at Disneyland, CA.)

No, we didn't request it.

We're staying at the YC non-CL in a couple of weeks, so I think I'll try and request it just to see.

I'll be checking in to BC CL later on today so we'll see. Not sure if I should ask or just see what happens.

We were in a non-CL room at GF last year and received turn down service.

I've read somewhere on these boards before that you can call and request turn down service at any deluxe, even if not CL.

My understanding is that this is a very new ....and by very new I mean within the last week or so development. It seems as if turndown service for Club level guests is over and you are not able to request either whether you were staying club level or not. It is certainly a disappointment.

Actually, the Grand Floridian has always done this for every guest… Club level or not. I assume with the recent developments this is also over. I'm very disappointed!

Per a post in the 'Club Level' thread, DSS said that only BC and YC ended turn down service. (which disappoints me since we love turn down & are staying to BC in a week or so).

One reason that we love turn down is that my kids still nap mid-day. And we often return around 2pm and the room not cleaned yet. Because of naps we put out do not disturb and then don't get housekeeping. But with turndown service we still get clean towels. And yummy chocolates!

I guess it could wind up saving us money, because it's one less reason to stay CL.

It's crazy that they keep taking things away, especially when prices keep going up. It's hard to accept that they 'just stopped it' and it's still being advertised as part of the CL amenities on their website. How can they not honor it? :sad2:

Jumping on this thread as well; we're checking in at AKL in standard room CL and will let you know.

We just checked in, and asked the CMs at the CL reception. They confirmed turndown is still availble at the AKL CL, and that, at their knowledge, there are no plans to stop it at this resort.

Let's pray BC and YC will revert their decision!

I know every room at the Grand Californian had turn down service circa 2004, but that's definitely no longer the case. I've never stayed GCCL so I'm unsure what they do there.

IMG_0326.PNG For those staying at Yacht Club, I sent an email to DSS asking the YC CL amenities. Here was the response...

Response from DSS

"That is correct. Turn down services are no longer offered at Disney's Yacht Club Resort."

For reference, we've had turndown service tonight at the AKL CL. They left no chocolate though; is this expected at this resort?

As my wife noted, “no chocolates, but at least our curtains have been closed by professionals”.

Good to know about the turndown...just a nice touch. Sad about the chocolate. I love your wife's response!

I have to say, I am totally baffled at what purpose is served by turn down service. We stay CL all the time and the times we've stayed it's been a regular occurrence and we usually are in the room when they come for it, since it typically happens during the evening service times. When we are around we always refuse it since I simply don't see the purpose. If they stop it as a cost saving measure I say great. Because to me, it's a complete waste of man power.
