Club Level ???'s

We have always planned for ourselves. Never really using the IPO. How much is too much to ask of them??? Does anyone tell them where they would like to dine and when and then let them situate everything? I feel funny asking them to do all this stuff for me. Especially things that I know are very hard to come by (Crt, illuminations cruise). IDK it just seems weird maybe because I have always done it for us.
 
I always do it myself, also. I can't see handing control over my reservations/arrangements to someone else. If there's something you're unable to book, you can ask the concierge to see if they can get it - like a special dinner or something. But otherwise, I enjoy using the lounge but don't bother the staff to do things I can do for myself.
 
This is part of the club level service, although I understand that some people feel more in control doing it themselves.
However, you need not feel uncomfortable letting them know when and where you'd like to dine.
The new (1 year or so...) form that Disney emails to CL guests who have email addresses on their reservations includes a section for requests for character dining, dinner shows and regular dining reservations :thumbsup2 Also for recreation, childcare, spa appointments, etc.

I ask for my main requests (Sunset safari, Grand One cruise, etc.) as soon as I make contact with the resort's IPO and then I tinker with my ADRs up until I depart for WDW. This is what they do all day long so don't worry about it :wizard:
 
You should not feel funny about asking the IPO Cast Members to make ADR's or get other things for you, because when you are staying Club Level that is their job.
 

We are staying club level for the first time this christmas and I have a very very controlling streak BUT I went ahead and took my chances and let the IPO make my plans (AKL) and they really did GREAT! they got me everything I wanted and even through in a couple of free castle b day cakes for the kids to be sent to the room....they also got us resis for the sunrise safari AND will be trying to get me a fireworks cruise.I have called them a few times to add and change a few things and they have been real nice about it. It really did take some stress off of me. They e mailed me my whole itinerary for our stay.:thumbsup2
 
Thanks for all the replies. I know that they enjoy what they do. I just don't want to be "That Guest". I have only asked for 2 ADR's which they did no problem. I don't know I just feel like if I ask for something I am being a pest. In no way is it how they make me feel. I just feel that way. I guess I need to let that go and jump in. I know it would take lots of stress off me.

I totally understand. You're obviously a modest & gracious person. Trust me, you have no idea what they deal with. With your attitude, you couldn't be "That Guest" if you tried ;) Make some requests & let them help you :wizard:
 
I made all my ADRs myself --- the only thing I did ask IPO to do for me was arrange Magical Express. So, I emailed them my flight numbers and info and the replied that Magical Express was set up for me and my family.

A few days ago I called reservations to pay off my trip. Before doing so I asked the CM to verify the flight numbers on Magical Express for me.

Well......the CM replied that I had NO Magical Express set up on my vacation.

Fortunately, the CM was able to add Magical Express --- and my ME luggage stickers should not be delayed on account of this.

So....for me lesson learned ---- just do the planning myself - I'm the only one that really cares whether its done and done right.
 
We're staying club level for the first time in December as well at AKL and the wonderful staff there have been fairly helpful on most fronts. They made all of our ADRs and have made the needed changes to them. I'm sure that I'm probably "The Guest" that they talk about. I hate that but also feel (to a point) that I'm paying for that service and if they can help me, it's easier for me to shoot them an email and get it taken care of as opposed to spending hours of my time on the phone switching everything around.

livie1205 -how did you get them to arrange the cake??? When I asked about this (because I've been putting it off) I was told my only option was a zebra cake or the Mickey head cake. Did you call the chef directly?? TIA for any help you can provide!!

ETA: In regards to the ME-I called to set this up myself for our trip in Sept and it's all screwed up according to the Disney site when I tried to check my ressie the other day. I've got to call back and correct the times and guests using ME. We don't have a "number"-I guess I need to ask for one of those as well.

While I was talking to an IPO staff member about my December ADRs, I mentioned the Magical Express. She told me I had to make my ME reservations myself and then gave me an incorrect number to call. I just assumed that making ME reservations would be a job for the IPO staff.
 
The IPO staff can and should help with you DME. There is a 1-800 you can call. If the IPO makes my ADR's I have a TA double check everything or have them do the ressies.
