Is club level at portofino worth the money? How's the food? Any updated pics from 2012?
Also, I've read it is possible to arrive and get upgraded for less money. We'll be there in september 2013 a party of 6, probebly staying in suite. We were supposed to be a party of 5 in club room at hrh but for six there's a better deal for a suite at portpfino. But for teo rooms the club cost is double, no? Per room? So instead of costing 20$ per person (100$ a night at hrh), it would cost at least 33 $ a day). Is it worth what you get at club??
We'll be mostly at the parks and less at hotel...
Also, and sorry for so many questions, at portopfino can you get bottled water at club too?
Pleaseeeeee helpppp

if you have 6, you'll have to book the suite.

yes, you can get bottled water from the club lounge.

there are times you can upgrade for $100 a night for club lounge usage.

the club lounge is on the 3rd floor.

booking club means you can be on another floor rather than 3rd floor.

if you plan to spend most of your time in the parks, i don't think club would be worth the extra costs.

i never come out ahead when i have club for my stays at the onsite hotels.
i go solo and money wise, it is not to my advantage.

I agree. We didn't stay Club at Portofino, but at Royal Pacific. And they opened just late enough that grabbing breakfast made us late for early entry every day we tried to get there. The one day we planned our our "grab 'n go" plan, my son lost his Harry Potter wand and we had to find it. (we did. thank you fellow guest who found it and took it straight to the front desk! you will be appreciated forever!)

And because they have different offerings throughout the day, it means you have to keep going back to try to get your money's worth. Little dinner/appetizer thing, then a beer/wine/booze thing, then a desserty thing if I'm remembering correctly...you have to be there at the resort to take advantage of it. Gets a bit tiring for the feet! :)

IF you are planning most of your time not at the hotel it is not a good value. For us it was well worth it.We ate breakfast there before heading over for early entry and we were often back at the hotel for swimming in the afternoons and in the evening for Wine and appys. But we also stayed 5 nigths and were leisurely with our park days..Most of the photos are still pretty accurate as to what there is..Breakfast is generally pastries, breads, yogurts, hardboiled eggs, cereals juice/coffee/milk/tea..Noon snacks is canned sodas, bottled water by request ( you can get them anytime of day, you have to ask though)and pretzels ,trail mix o goldfish crackers. Wine and Appys..Varies nightly..There are wines, beers and usually cheeses/breads/crackers/ hot entree of some kind/salad.We found some nights the hot entree was enough for a meal..Sweet treats before bed were mini cakes/cookies coffee/milk/soda/tea..

How much is charged per room for the upgrade to club? We'll be six in a suite with queen double connected.

Is it possible not to order upfront? And only on arrival to ask to upgrade? We'll be there in september, is it possible that hotel won't be full and upgrade will be offered for cheaper rate?

you can book club when you make your reservation.

or, you can inquire about upgrading to club once you check in.

if you have your heart set on club level, book it when you make the ressie.

sometimes you can't pay the upgrade for club once you are there.

if the hotel feels that club level if full, you will not be able to upgrade once there.

if you check the rates out for the onsite hotels for mid september, you'll see they are about the cheapest rates you can get.

that means they don't have crowds and not even close to 99% occupancy.....
