I'm going to stay at the Swan with my family of 5. I'm debating whether to pay the additional $75 for a club level room. Can anyone tell me if it's worth the cost to be able to eat the continental breakfast and the late afternoon snacks, as well as be able to grab some bottles of water and pop? $75 seems like an awful lot. We can probably eat breakfast for $30 (?). Would we get our money's worth? Thanks!

Welcome to the DIS, Skiingwife!

I don't know the answer to your question, but I know we have some Swan/Dolphin experts out there who do.

You may want to check out the Dolphin/Swan question and answer thread. There is a wonderful group of Swan and Dolphin fans who enthusiatically answer lots of questions about the resorts. You can find the thread here.

Is it $75 more a night or $75 more for the entire trip? If it's $75 more per night, I would definitely say NO, it's not worth it. We stop at the grocery store for lite breakfast food and snacks to keep in our room.

We are going to be staying at the Dolphin Club Level and we think it is worth it. We have stayed at Disney Resorts Concierge and thought they were worth the extra cost. We eat all of our breakfasts there and many nights we would make a light dinner out of the hor'durves after having a large lunch at the parks. We also would come back mid-afternoon and enjoy the snacks before going to the pool. So for the four of us, we think it is worth it. Five would be even more worth. Just think of all the money you spend on lunches and snacks. Jay

WELCOME to the DIS!! (echoing Karen's sentiments and thanking her for the kind comments about the S/D thread and posters! :flower: ).

This decision is entirely up to you (as only you know your family and whether they would benefit from such offerings!). I think $75 would more than cover a FULL breakfast for 5 every morning in a restaurant (where as the lounge offers only a continental breakfast). You can always stop at a store nearby, as skiingwife posted, and purchase water/pop for your stay. Since the hours in the afternoon are limited, you may still be in the parks on some days...and not take advantage of the lounge. Most days, we never even visit the lounge, but since we receive CL as a complimentary SPG perk (for Plat), it is not a concern. If I were paying $75 per day, I may possibly insure we would use it accordingly! :D

On the up-side, the lounge is VERY convenient, and the concierge staff are incredibly helpful and warm. MamaT, Thabo and Marie...etc., are a pleasure to visit with each day. If your family would enjoy the convenience of the lounge (staying ON CL), and you intend to be in the resort for an afternoon break each day...it would probably be well worth the extra $$$. The offerings in the afternoon also include a hot appetizer, along with the giant freshly-baked cookies, fresh fruit, cheese and crackers, etc. It's also SO relaxing just to kick-back in the chairs and read a paper, or just chat with family while you enjoy the view.

Hope this helps...and you enjoy a FAB time in the WORLD!
