Just upgraded to Club Level at Portifino Bay for my April trip. Whats it like? Any location better than others?

I have never stayed club at PBH so I can't comment on the lounge or the food offerings. I can tell you that I have not heard very many good things about it on these boards. I can offer some info about your room though. You will be in a deluxe room on the 5th or 6th floor of the villa wing. This means you may be in for a very long walk to the lounge as the villa wing is very long and winding and the lounge is off the lobby. There are some deluxe rooms right above the lobby with bay views. These would just be an elevator ride away and the closest to the club lounge . I will be there this weekend and will try to get you some good room numbers to request.

Daryl,

My family and I spent a few nights last May at Portofino Club Level (before going over to Disney). We had a wonderful time. Yes, our room was a long way from the Club Lounge, but compared to the walking you'll be doing in the parks - it was nothing!! For us, the breakfasts were ample -- muffins, toast, bagels, many kinds of fruit, cereals, juice, coffee, etc., and the wine and cheese around 5 p.m. was great - unlimited wine and beer, plus the food offerings weren't bad - one night in addition to cheese and crackers, they had a vegetable platter and deli sandwiches. They also had a hot appetizer each night. In fact, one night we ate so much at the club we cancelled our dinner reservations! During breakfast and wine/cheese, the lounge is crowded. There's a mid-morning snack - granola and smoothies and the lounge is empty then. In the afternoon, they have fruit platters and canoli, squares, etc. The only disappointments were the desserts -- just cookies. The concierges were always friendly and helpful, and the water and soft drinks available all day were handy.

You also get a welcome CD of Italian music.

Only a few club level rooms have a balcony, so if that's important to you, make sure you request it.

Enjoy!

Stayed at PBH June of 04 and we upgraded to club level after we arrived. I wanted a patio and not a balcony. We stayed on the bottom floor, which is not considered club officially, (that is the 5th & 6th floors I believe) but we did have the same card access to the club which is located near the main entrance on that floor. Our patio looked out onto the bacci ball court and the smaller pool. Very nice :cool1: . We had a deluxe room which was the same as what you get upstair but we had it with a patio & easier access to leave the hotel or go to the club, than waiting for elevators to come all the way up each time. I would go for a patio room anytime I stay at PBH.
Have a great trip. We're heading to RPR club in June and can't wait.

The club rooms (floors 5 & 6) that are directly above the lobby are 2500-2510 and 2600-2610. The Pres. and one of the Gov. suites are located in those spans though so there really are only a few rooms in that location that arent' part of the hight end suites. They would all have bay views. 2511-2520 and 2611-2620 would also be very close. Most of those look out onto the villa pool.
