Finally bought dvc resale. Longtime dream. I’ve been very happy with the process and it was all done around 35 days. I just got a welcome email from dvc with my activation code but the email says the club ID would be in my closing documents. R they referring to welcome packet/letter coming by mail from Disney?

Just call them, and ask for it... They will give it to you over the phone after you provide them the contract number you purchased.

Great3

Awesome. Thx I’ll call when they open

I would recommend calling Member Administration and ask super nicely if they can give you your club ID. I made the mistake of calling Member Services at first and they wouldn’t give it to me. It could have just been the CM I got at MS, but the one at Member Admin was very nice.

Thanks! I had just hung up with member services with a headache because she wouldn't do it and told me I had to wait 4 weeks. At your suggestion just called member admin and she gave me my club ID# and member# right away!

Wow. We haven’t closed yet so I have no experience but are they directed to be difficult?

I think it is because you aren't quite a member yet. As I understand it, Member Admin. sets up your membership: takes care of verifying your contract, assigning your number, and loading your points. They have access to more information to verify your identity. I think Member Services is just the customer service arm of DVC without access or authority to give out the details of your contract and information. (I believe that is to prevent people from trying to make a reservation at a DVC resort on someone else's points.)

MS isn't supposed to give you your ids over the phone (security, I supposed). I don't think MA is either, but they aren't as used to taking direct member calls and are more likely to not know they aren't supposed to.

Are you sure it isn’t a resale v direct thing? My guide told me to call MS for my Club ID and a MS CM gave me all the Club IDs for those listed on the deed with just me calling in minutes after a deposit.

member admin asked me to verify my name, address and contract#. i was able to get into the member site but sadly no points yet. they are blaming the hurricane for that so now i just wait on that. they suggested I call back if they don't show up within a week online. the resale i purchased had all of their 2018 points banked so receiving those along with the 2019 so excited to book a ressie.

I'm pretty sure that several years ago they were instructed only to mail them to the address on file. But guides usually have no clue what happens post sale.

The points will show up about 10 days after your contract gets added to the membership id. That's normal. However, with the hurricane, it make take longer, probably around 2 weeks or so. I understand you are excited and can't wait. However, that's that the process DVC goes thru, and you are on the final stretch now. Have fun booking once the points show up!

Just went through this. The points took a week once I got on the website and they loaded on Tuesday (height of the storm). 1'st ever contract, resale FWIW.
