Just received my information in the mail about DVC. I see that in the World Passport collection, there are exchanges not only through Interval, but also exchanges through the "Buena Vista Trading Company" to "Club Cordial" or "Club Intrawest" resorts. Those resorts seem to cost a lower number of points per night.

Can someone please explain to me the difference between Interval resorts and Club Cordial/Club Intrawest ones? Has anyone ever stayed at a Club Cordial/Intrawest property? How was it? Is the "Buena Vista Trading Company" affiliated with Disney? Does that make it easier to get weeks at these locations?

Thanks for the insights!

You can't get 7 days through the BVTC but can get 6 or 8. The rules are different but the per night cost is actually quite a bit more than thorugh II directly. This thread should give you some basics. Try this thread.

I'm actually resurrecting this thread to see if anyone has ever used points to stay at Club Cordial resorts. We are thinking about going to Austria in '07 (going pretty much at an off peak time, so looking at Dean's exchange rate metrics from an older thread, I have hopes it will work).

However- has anyone done an exchange into Club Cordial? If so, what were your thoughts? I like the per day flexibility since I want to split time up between Vienna and Salzburg. I have another property where I can exchange through RCI and could potentially use that to exchange, but have recently decided to shy away from RCI exchanges unless I absolutely need to.

Just remember you'll have a fee per each stay for each property. That means two fees for your stated plans. You may want to talk to Dial an exchange to see if they might get one or both the resorts you want. You may be better off getting a full week and only using a few days, that going through BVTC. You may also want to look for a member there. Cordial recently joined forces with a larger group so you might be able to get the time you want much easier and cheaper. And don't forget to look at cash directly, you may be surprised. TUG has some reviews of some of the resorts.

Thanks Dean- Good point on the two fees for two properties. I've let my TUG membership expire, need to renew that since it a good resource for resort quality.

Your point on Cordial joining up with a larger group- and getting the time easier and cheaper- meaning that there is a larger pool of members to directly deal with?

I think there are 7 Cordial resorts. They are also a member of Geoholidays vacation club but I don't know how tight the association is or that much about Geo. I'd bet if you could find Cordial owners you wouldn't have much problems find one interested in a private exchange for DVC or even just to rent it out to you. You may want to query DVC about how many points that stay would cost you directly and what you could expect.
