Club 33

Okay, this thread is evil.

I am now eating a boring lunch at my desk when I really could be having Chateaubriand at the club.

What is that sound that Homer Simpson makes when he's eating or staring at food? Yeah, I'm making that sound now.

Sigh.

Are Birkenstock sandels acceptable footware at club 33?

Thanks

Jack

However, no tank tops, cutoffs, swimsuits, bare midriffs, sweatpants, flip flops/sandals or beachwear may be worn.

I would not wear them.

She was currious. Hard to find a place that does list what is acceptable.

There is a dress code:" For lunch, guests may come in fashionable casual attire in order to enjoy the Disneyland Resort in comfort. However, no tank tops, cutoffs, swimsuits, bare midriffs, sweatpants, flip flops/sandals or beachwear may be worn. Walking length shorts are acceptable. Jeans are acceptable, provided that they cover undergarments completely and are not extremely faded or torn.

If Guests have been enjoying the day in Disneyland Park, evening casual attire is acceptable for dinner. For gentlemen, collared shirts and slacks are appropriate, and for ladies an informal dress or pants with a blouse are appropriate."

I copied this from the paperwork I received from Club 33.

Do CM ever get to dine at Club 33 or is it just the Corporate people for the most part? If I have to go back to Law School to have lunch, I guess it is a sacrafice I need to make! :rotfl: The California Bar is pretty tough though...guess I better start studying! :surfweb:

A CM is able to dine at Club 33 as a guest of a member (or if he/she is a member themself, obviously). There are many individual memberships out there, not just corporate ones. There are those individuals who have been members for years, some newer ones this year as well as those corporate accounts.

I was fortunate to work with someone whose son had been a member very early on in the club's years. When he passed away quite unexpectantly she was able to simply take over that membership, something that isn't done so easily these days. She was very generous in making reservations for me and my friends whenever we requested. It was always a wonderful time.

Definitely looking forward to our next visit there in December!

I think it would be a lot cheaper to just go on an Adventures by Disney trip! They get to eat breakfast at Club 33.

You wouldn't have the pressure to get a job with the right company that way :)

I didn't know that!! They don't show it on the itinerary. :( Maybe I will meet some members when I go to the D23 Expo next year or at the half marathon this September. :goodvibes

This isn't a standard thing right now. We were on the June 20th trip and were the first regular (non-Dreams Unlimited/Dis Unplugged group) group to eat here. We were still in DL the following week and ran into our guide, Michael, who told me his group that week had just finished breakfast--at the Plaza!

With the amount of merchandise bought (BFF and I each got $200 worth and there were 38 of us on the trip), you'd think ABD/Club 33 would be sure to incorporate this as a simple way to boost Disney revenue.

We were there for dinner two weeks ago and it was fabulous. We entered at the reserved time and the receptionist did a shoe check and we waited about 3 minutes before riding up in the elevator. The clothing varied from jeans and a Disney sweatshirt to $1000 suits.
We were escorted to our table where Louis was our server and a most excellent one at that. The food was well prepared and each course was timely presented.
Each outside table was next to a door where you could go out on the balcony and people watch. I had the opportunity to go in all the rooms plus a look into the food preparation area.
Thanks to my benefactor for allowing my family to eat at Club 33, an experience I will never forget and hope to go again in the future if offered the opportunity.
The only thing I did not get was a Club 33 XL hoodie. So if anyone has the opportunity to purchased one, please do I will reimburse ASAP.

All in all, an experience I will never forget. Any questions please ask.

Thanks for posting this Jack! I wanted to hear your thoughts/experience at Club 33. I hope to go there someday :)

Did ya grab any souvenirs?

I did not but the family did.
tdashgirl-it is like a 50-60 refined gentlemens club. Some people were partying real heavy and some were quietly having diner. Food was over the top.

I am so happy for you that you got to go!! And I am happy that you had a wonderful, positive experience! :goodvibes

I wonder if they would allow you purchase the hoodie over the phone once they're back in stock, since you were a guest? :confused3

I have been told that you have to make the purchase at the time you are there, but I have a couple of non-member friends that will check for me off and on.

This is true. It's sort of like the final scene in "The Nun's Story" when she is leaving the convent and you hear the "click" as the door to the outdoor world is unlocked. Once you exit, you're not back in; well, for Club 33 you're not back in until your next visit. (Okay, that was a bit dramatic, but that's how I feel when I leave the club!)

Jack, the person who made the reservation, since he/she is a member, would be able to contact the club and check out the availability of the hoodie and pick it up for you. That might be a possibility for you as well.

Glad you had a good time!
