Through an unexpected miracle (that probably involves giving up my firstborn), we've snagged a dinner ressie for Club 33! OMG!!! NEVER thought that could happen.....

But, now I'm filled with questions. Can anyone who's been there weigh in??

1. How do you dress for the parks AND for Club 33? I want to wear a nice dress but that involves heels......We're staying at GCH; how's the walk?

2. The menu on allears.net is misleading. At the top it says $75 per person but then also has prices beside the menu items. So...is it $75 pp ON TOP of the menu prices? This has me confused.

3. Will they think I'm a boofus if I take a lot of pictures? This one I'm not so worried about; I'll most likely never see any of those people again but I don't want to come off TOO Fannie May from Hickville.....

4. How long should we allow for dinner? Not sure WHAT time our ressie is but will see about hitting parks when we're finished.

Congrats!! It is such a special experience.

1. The first time we went we were also staying at the GCH. We went back well before our dinner reservation and changed. We also gave ourself time to get back to Club 33 (not wanting to be late for that!). The walk wasn't bad at all. The next time we were at Hojo, and we drove in and parked the car at DTD. We did lunch both times, so we didn't have to dress fancy, for dinner I would though yes.

2. Not real sure on the pricing, the member paid for everything for us each time (really nice of them, and unexpected!). I always understood it to the be price of admission to the park, per person though.

3. Heck no, their quite used to that. In fact I can't imagine NOT taking a million pictures. I went around taking pictures of everything. Every room, and even the bathroom. lol At check in they even offered to take pictures of us in front of the glass elevator, and our server took a picture of us at our table.

Here's a few of those pictures I mentioned:

I've got lots! LOL
4. I'd say at least an hour, you won't want to leave trust me. lol

Also put some money aside to buy a something with club 33 on it. I got the mickey ears last time. I've also bought a beautiful wine glass, key chain ect... lol Just enjoy and make the most of it!

1. I would suggest going to your room and changing before dinner. That way you can freshen up and look your best for your experiance. In addition, the walk from GCH to DL is really not too bad. In heels though, I would still catch the train on Main street and take it to new orleans square.

2. i have never been, and probably will never get a chance too... *sigh* so I really cannot answer this one.

3. I doubt it, people go to Club 33 all the time and come back with lot's of pictures. I think they expect it. Even, if they do think you are a little Fannie May, who cares? This is your trip, you want your pictures.

4. I have heard some people spend about 2-3 hours at club 33. Alot of that time is exploring the place and taking pictures, or enjoying after dinner drinks. If there is a time limit, they will let you know. I would say to allot 2 to 3 hours for dinner and if you need more, then you stay a little longer, or if you leave earlier, all the more opportunity for you to go do something else.

I hope you have a wonderful time, and I am very jealous of you. If you know any club 33 members who are willing to invite a fellow DISer, let me know!

I have heard of club 33 before.
Can someone tell me exactly what it is and how you get in it (or do you just have to be Tom Cruise or something)

I figured to sum it up best, I would enlist the help of Wikipedia.

Here is what they had to say about it...

"Club 33 is a private club located in the heart of the New Orleans Square section of Disneyland. Officially maintained as a secret feature of the theme park, the entrance of the club is located next to the Blue Bayou Restaurant at "33 Royal Street" with the entrance recognizable by an ornate address plate with the number 33 engraved on it. When riding Pirates of the Caribbean, just as the ride departs, the Blue Bayou restaurant is visible, but the balconies above it are actually a part of Club 33."

Here is what they say about membership

There are two types of Club 33 membership: corporate and individual. As of February 2008 the current membership levels are Corporate Membership, Limited Corporate Membership, and individual Gold Membership. The Corporate and Limited Corporate Memberships allow for transfer of members, while individual memberships are non-transferable. In the late 1990s, Club 33 offered a lower tier of individual membership, the Silver Membership. However, this level of membership was discontinued. As of June 2007, the membership waiting list was 14 years, and membership interest list was closed to new inquiries as of April/May 2007.
Prior to the closure of the membership interest list, those interested in membership would send a written letter of inquiry to Disney. They would then have received a confirmation letter and information packet. Currently, letters of inquiry are replied to with a letter explaining that the interest list is closed, and no new additions are being made to the list. For those waiting on the list, as memberships open, potential members are informed via a letter of intent from Disney.
Initial fees and annual dues vary by membership.
The Corporate Membership fee is $27,500 plus $6,100 in annual fees. Up to nine associate members can be designated at an annual fee of $4,650 each. Members no longer in the employment of the corporate member's company must surrender the membership cards to Club 33. The corporate member may then designate another member of the company.
The Limited Corporate Membership fee is $13,750 with only one member at an annual fee of $4,650. This entitles the corporation to transfer the membership to another employee whenever necessary.
The Gold Membership is for an individual with a member fee of $10,450 and an annual fee of $3,275. Additional use of a membership card is by spouse only, with reservations accepted only from the cardholder, the spouse, or the cardholder's assistant. The Gold Membership is not transferable.
Members at any level are allowed to make personal reservations 90 days in advance and guest reservations 60 days in advance. Private parties utilizing the entire Club facilities for special occasions such as birthdays, holiday parties, and business functions are available upon member's request with a required minimum number of guests. For an additional fee, members may request any of Disney's costumed characters to appear at the club, as Disney believes "special events [are] always more fun with Mickey or Donald."
The member and one guest (or spouse) receive complimentary admission to Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure at any time whether or not they eat at the Club. Club members and up to nine guests are allowed complimentary admission when dining at the Club. If the member is unable to accompany the guests to Club 33, the Club will arrange admission for them at no charge. Club members receive complimentary parking.

I hoped that helped

Club 33 has a minimum charge of $69 per person (adults) plus tax and tip, which is the cost of a one-day admission to the park. With this cost, however, you receive a park hopper ticket for the day.

The dinner menu will have a prix fixe Vintner's dinner on the left side (which, I believe, is $75) to which you can add wine pairings for each course (an additional $35) and an a la carte menu on the right side. Many times we'll ask for an item off the Vintner's menu (salad or appetizer) that isn't on the a la carte menu and they are usually very willing to do this.

Enjoy your time at Club 33.

WOW!!!!
14 year waiting list!
The fees!!! I was thinking what in the world comes with that then at the very end they get admission too. LOL They should get fast passes and free character stuff and a free stay at a resort hotel, lol.

I went for lunch there this past March (thanks Heather!) and each meal was $79.

Have a great time!

We were walking by as someone was being admitted, so I got a very quick peek inside, but the CM inside hurried to shut the door from us gawkers ;)

However, we did take a picture of the outside:

I had not even thought about Club 33 when we were over in New Orleans Square until we just happened by it and I saw it. My guys didn't know about it, either, so I was explaining it to them. I also told them that this was as close as they'd probably ever get to experiencing it:

But for those who do get to go -- I hear it's a wonderfully magical time -- enjoy it!

The walk from GCH to DL's entrance is about 5 minutes once you're heading to DTD from the main lobby... I would definitely allow a good 1/2 hour to walk from GCH, enter the park, and make your way over to Club 33, even if you're planning to take the train (fabulous suggestion!) in case you have to wait for it to arrive at Main Street. That way you're there in plenty of time.

Got a few more details about our ressie! It's Friday, July 3 at 8:15 PM. Couldn't be more perfect!

I'm still stressing about the shoe situation, though. I think I could wear some flat, well padded sandals (no heels!). I doubt we'll hit the park after we eat but still.....maybe it would be funny to do Space Mountain in fancy clothes! :-)

You might want to look into this. I have been to Club 33, and my friend who gets me in made sure to tell me that flip flops/sandals are a no no.

This website: http://www.disneylandclub33.com/dresscode.htm mentions the no flip flops/sandals rule also. Although, they are not an official website. I would check with the member getting you in about this. I'd hate to read that you got turned away for footwear!

Here's a picture from our visit in March, we took lots of pictures including a group photo on the balcony. It was a magical experience for all of us.

I was just going to note the above as well. If your sandals even resemble flip flops, you may be asked to find more appropriate footwear. We had friends who went and one of their number had very nice dress sandals and was asked to find something else for her feet. I'm not exactly sure what she found in any of the nearby shops but she did come back with something and they let her back in. There are others who say that this doesn't happen, but it does.

BTW, we'll be seeing you there on the 3rd as we celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our reservation is at 7:15 p.m. You'll have a grand time.

I think it's another one of those inconsistencies at Disney that we all deal with. I think it all depends on the person manning the front desk at the time of your meal. He/she makes the call on whether to let you in, and I'm sure some are more sticklers to the rules than others. (Or maybe it's just the way that each CM interprets the rules.)

Thanks for reminding me about this! I remember reading it somewhere now. The ones I was going to wear are "flip flops" with the thing through the toe but they also have a strap around the back. They're $100 dressy Born sandals; not $5 Old Navy flip flops. I guess I didn't put them in the same category.....

My other option (without buying new shoes) are a pair or open toed mule pumps. This might harder than I thought. But better safe than sorry......Might have to go shopping after all......

OP - how big is your purse? You could always wear flip flops on the walk while carrying your heals. Then right before you go in - change your shoes and put your flip flops in your purse. Ofcourse that completely depends on the size of your purse.

I hate wearing heals but this is what I do whenever I have long walks that involve being dressed in outfits that require heals.

Congrats to the OP, we are going 7/28 and can't wait.

For the folks who have been... How does the food compare to say Napa Rose? We are going for dinner and I love the multi course type meals where the chefs really get to strut their stuff.

We are foodies so just wondering how it compares overall.

i hope this isn;t a nosy question but those of you that have been are you members or did someone give you a reservation? i was just wondering how many people were individual members.

This is exactly what I was going to write. Just wear comfy shoes and change outside before you enter.

Have fun!

Went out today and bought a pair of (hopefully) super comfy flats that won't look TOO bad with my dress....they're Borns and a little utilitarian, but o well....

As for how we got the reservation, the people who are coming with us are well connected. It seems the sister of the husband was able to get us the ressie.....Not sure if it's through corporate membership or what.....

We're also eating at Napa Rose and S'house 55 so this is definitely a "foodie" trip...
