Club 33 here we come!

(A short "FYI": If I ever have to wear adult undergarment guards I wouldn't wear one called "Depends". I'd want one called "Definitely"!)

Congrats on going to Club 33. I know you'll be taking a ton of photos for us to see, so I won't ask. :thumbsup2

I am so jealous :-)

You should take small pictures of all us with you so that we can say were there with you.

I'll take a DIS photo album with me.

It's going to be a strange day. We'll have to head back to the hotel and change into something nice, eat and shop at Club 33, then back to the hotel to change and drop off the bags of goodies, before heading back out for the rest of the evening. Luckily it's only a 15 minute walk to the hotel.

Did you know that you get free parkhopper passes for the day you go to 33? I guess that will pay for the dinner right there.

I've never heard of Club 33 but just checked it out online. Oh holy smokes! Have fun and take a bunch of pictures.

Just an FYI, no need to "dresss" for the club. It's pretty casual. But if you are the type how likes to dress for such an occasion, then by all means do! It will make the pics even better!:cool1:

Whats the food like?
What price range is it?

If I remember correctly, both Sunday Brunch and lunch cost about $65. Whatever the cost is of a one day ticket is a good measure. I have not been there for dinner so I do not know if the price is the same.

Food is very subjective. I had some high notes and some low notes. You go for the history, the experince and the ambience, certainly (IMHO) not for the food.

Thanks - Was not sure if it was on par with some

Marc and I have been fortunate to have been guests of a member quite a few times. I didn't know much about Club 33 until I started working for my current employer. One of my co-workers had a membership as one of her sons had been a member for years. When he passed away the estate fought a bit with the management and mom was able to take possession of the card and membership.

She was very generous in allowing us to go many times, sometimes with her and other times by ourselves or with additional friends. One of our favorite times was a special event held when the movie based on the Haunted Mansion came out. There was a dinner where members of the production came and chatted about the movie and mingled with the guests. I still have the gravestone place marker that was used for our seating on the bookcase at home. She, the member, won an autographed book of the costume designs by Mona May.

We, again, were fortunate to have our wedding-day dinner (last July) in the Club as well as a small wedding reception there a month later (try picking only 8 friends who you want to share that with!!).

We've only done lunch once and while we enjoyed it we did prefer dinners. We've got LOTS of great memories from Club 33.

If I recall correctly lunch is a set price which is the same cost as a one-day park hopper (currently $69). Lunch includes a buffet-type salad and seafood bar and a dessert buffet while you order your entree as a cooked-to-order entree. Dinner has the same cost minimum but we always seemed to spend a bit more than the minimum. They have a Vintner's menu, with or without wine pairings, and then a separate ala carte menu. Their signature entree is the filet of chateaubriand. And then there's also the allure of being able to have a drink in the park.....a Bombay Sapphire martini, extra dry, served up, after a hectic day in the park, just really sets the mood.

Back to dreaming....

Have a great time!

Not by any stretch of the imagination is it on par. Hands down I will take Citricos, California Grill, and Artist Point for food. I assume I will add V&A to that list two weeks from today!!! I put CG on for food only, I am not fond of the noise level and kids running amuck there. Don't get me wrong, the food is ok at CLub 33. The first time I thought it was pretty good, and the second time I was disappointed. Being a seafood fan, my biggest disappointment was I am not fond of the texture of previously frozen shellfish. And they could not provide me a list of ingredients for the desserts as they are all outsourced, luckily my allergy won't kill me. But I will say, they make a wicked dirty belvidere martini!!

Sorry zeitzeuge, it is really hard to post semi-negatives on such a topic. Also don't plan much time on shopping. The selection is very limited in both offerings and location. Do pay with a CC. You get to keep the pen they present you to sign with. And yes, it is has a logo on it. If it isn't crowded do walk around and explore the other dining rooms that you are not seated in. Do ask your othe half or a passerby or a CM to take a photo of you ringing the doorbell.

I'll work on my photos today and get them up here.

See? You can go au naturale. Sounds like fun to me. :thumbsup2

That's only for pool parties during the summer. :rolleyes1

I'm reading that they've changed the dress code, especially for dinner. No shorts of any kind. That's why we're going to go back to the hotel and change. It's not that big of a deal since we stay literally across the street from the park entrance.

I know that they don't have tons of merchandise, but I do know about Club 33 mickey ears, pins and shirts. So we'll probably do those. We can'tpass up getting all that we can. I do realize that the food is very good, but not to expect some sort of 5 star dining. But that is totally fine. We spent a ridiculous amount of money for dinner at the Blue Bayou and swore to never go waste our money there again. That is the restaurant that is inside the POTC.

I'm going for one reason only. The experience of a lifetime for me and my partner. I seriously got teary eyed here at work after I got the message and when I got to call up my partner and tell him about it. I think it's been a bigger dream of his, then it was mine. He's beside himself with happiness.

I want to see every inch of the place, take pictures, ride the elevator to the top, sit on the balcony and sip a Black Martini (vodka, chambourd and a lemon twist) and just soak up all the ambience that I can. Trust me, the CM's are going to know it's our first time there.

Too bad we didn't have this opportunity when my partner and I exchanged rings. Could you have imagined?!! Talk about one of the most romantic places to do something like that.

Now to sit and wait. Our trip has been moved up from October to September, so now it's 30 days closer. :yay:

How did Lindy miss this thread? I'm gonna have to lock it because it's obviously a religious experience for the OP! :rotfl2:

Seriously though, glad your dates got moved up 30 days...

Are you getting even more excited?
