Clowning Around on the Boardwalk! A Wigdout Trip report

:woohoo:Yay !:woohoo:for an update !

Great animal pictures :thumbsup2

Those oranges looked delish!
Never have noticed the fruit along the trail before:confused3
That would have been awesome if one would have fell off !

I hope that's not the Disney cookware you got

Can't wait to read more !popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::

Wonderful animal pictures. Were there many bats out? In Feb there was only a few due to the cold. We had to look real hard just to find them. The Tigers loved the cold and were out and about. We saw several oranges on the ground. Makes me hunger for an orange right now. Lovely pictures of the walls. I think this area has the best details.

Awesome update!
Thanks Bean! So glad you survived grad night!
I love this area, especially when we get lucky enough to see the tigers at play! I think we texted back and forth that morning as you were on your way to get a yogurt parfait. I was jealous. :)
We have never seen the tigers at play. Either sleeping or pacing. I feel sorry for them when they are pacing.
I remember we were texting, had I finally stopped bugging you about hopping in your car for that short drive down?

You can get the same yogurt parfait at McDonald's!
Not even close...
Beautiful photos.
I  Stellaluna!
Can you read that book without crying? I can't....:cutie:
Yogurt parfaits at Beach Club and a lovely stroll among the animals -- what a great start to your day! :thumbsup2

Did you decide against the Disney cookware? I don't remember seeing those pots and pans in your souvie post. :lmao::rotfl:
I've got myself in another mood for a Beach Club yogurt parfait. Looks like another 37 days to go.
I did decide to pass on Shocker's offer on the cookware.
I actually have a nicer set at home if you can believe that!
The walk to get it wouldn't be nearly as pretty.
The price wouldn't be nearly as much.
The place I would be going when it was done wouldn't be nearly as exciting.
It just wouldn't be the same, so...

stop your little banana dancer before I turn him into a split! :)
Plus it wouldn't taste nearly as gooooood!
I wouldn't mind a banana split so I say go for it MeMom!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Now you know that is SO not true, just because there isn't a drive through at the Beach Club to get one doesn't mean you gotta be down on the parfait's Shocker!!!! :rotfl: WIGD knew what she was talking about when she gave me that tip! I can't wait! SOOOOO good!!!! :goodvibes

WIGD I was really glad to see your update, I was thinking to myself how MEMOM was oh 20 pages into a TR that was started FOUR days ago, and well.... updates?? Hmmmmm.... ;) But I am glad you got that parfait, they are delightful I loved them and cant wait to have another this June!!! or two or three! AND great leisurely day to the AK, there are lots of things to see there in that park, I agree! Looking forward to more pics! BATS creep me out! :scared:
I remember taking pictures of the parfait too...
Remember the Tonight Show? OK, maybe not.
Well one time they had maybe Jack Hanna or Marlin Perkins on it and he had a fruit bat.
I was convinced that I needed one as a pet.
Needless to say, my mother said no.
I have always loved them....
Darling faces in my opinion...
:cutie:
I say we get him, Me Mom! ;)
Be gentle, he has to finish the backyard....
Love the pictures of the details in AK. I'll probably take the other trail to avoid the bats!
Awwwwww, and here I am, the bat lover.....
I have not tried the yogurt parfait at Beach Club. I will be putting that on my list for October! Thanks for only including one bat photo! :scared: The tigers are my favorites... they look so cute and cuddly!

Sorry to hear the GV isn't available... yet. :rolleyes1
Christine, I am in shock that you haven't had the parfait!
You must try one!
YUM!

Bats are just furry little critters with wings.....
Have you read Stellaluna?
It will make you cry.

Checking back on BLT next weekend if the points are in the system....

Hooray for an update... and :scared1: to the FPs being gone for EE. Even our summer day that had FPs left mid day, because we got a second set.
It was just crazy crowded, have never seen anything like it!
Although it wasn't bad back where we were. So I can't complain. When we left the ride area the people thinned quite a bit.
Our agenda didn't even really include any rides.

Great update! I love the pictures of the bat and tigers as we missed those on this last trip.

It must be an AK day as your update, MeMom's, and mine all had AK!:goodvibes I love to see things from other's perspectives and catch glimpses of things we missed.

We had the same bad luck with EE. All the fastpasses were gone by the time we got there. Boo!
I knew we would be able to go back to AK on another day so the ride didn't bother me. We were in search of a show and animals!
for an update !

We had never been back on those trails during March before so I didn't know those were orange trees.
They looked just right for eating!
I didn't get any Disney Cookware!
Shocker was just being silly as usual!
More update coming up!

Yes, there were quite a few bats out, Marc tried to get one stretching it's wings but I didn't see a picture so I guess he didn't get one.
It was nice and cool but the tigers were not playing.
There were oranges on the ground but not on the walkway, I just thought if one happened to fall into my hand....:rolleyes1
The walls are beautiful! I agree the details are awesome!
:goodvibes

Oh my gosh, those yogurt parfaits at Beach Club are so good! When we stayed there in 2007, DD and I had one every day for breakfast...

You can get the same yogurt parfait at McDonald's!

That is wrong on so many levels, I wouldn't know where to begin...:rolleyes1 :lmao:

I'm excited to see the pictures that I know are coming in the next update or two! We weren't able to see something that I know you have pictures of! ;)

Second on our list was a little clown fish named Nemo.
We saw this performance last a few years ago. Hoped to take Harper to it at Christmas but the line was terribly long so passed on it. Will try again on her next visit.
This time it was meant to be for us because we walked right in and up to the center section.
We had great seats.

Marc is still working on the dark setting on his camera and only got a couple of pictures.
Sorry but the first one is blurry.

Just a random pictures of us making our way through the park...
We think Animal Kingdom is the most exotic park, don't you agree?

We were headed in this direction but we did not go on the safari, we were going to look at other animals.
DSCN0780.jpg

Yes, these are skulls of giraffes, taken by Shocker for Jackie.
I'm posting them so I don't hurt his feelings.
Sorry Jackie.
:sad2:

DSCN0781.jpg

I hope I can make up for that last picture by what I'm about to show you.
Our main reason for our visit for the day was to get pictures of this little girl!

At the time of these pictures the baby was only a couple of weeks old. The main nest was quite a ways back from the viewing window but mom had brought her right up front and was napping with her. We were so lucky! Enjoy!

Tracy

Yay, the baby gorilla pictures! You guys got so lucky with those, when we went to AK, mom & baby were way back in the nest. :sad2:

Aren't you spending some time at WDW before the cruise? You could always buy that dress then... :rolleyes1

I clearly need to spend more time shopping at AK - you posted pictures of lots of stuff I like that I can't remember ever seeing before. Your TR is definitely going to cost me some $ in June. :rotfl:

On with the shopping!

After we made our way out of the park we met of with this character!
A very kind CM offered to take our picture!

DSCN0786.jpg

The next handler did not offer to take our picture together so it's just me and rafiki.

We had a new dining experience awaiting us at DTD so we made out way there with the Disney Transportation system by way of Saratoga Springs, got off at Congress Park then walked over.
This is where we ended up.

DSCN0790.jpg

Come inside with us!

It was almost St. Patrick's Day.

DSCN3788.jpg

DSCN3789.jpg

Marc had some samples of the beer.

DSCN3790.jpg

Soda bread.

DSCN3791.jpg

This was the oil to dip the bread in, so good!

DSCN3792.jpg

Our appy was breaded sausages. Oh my gosh, these were delicious!

DSCN3793.jpg

I had an outstanding dinner! It was the bangers and mashed potatoes, it had roast beef and vegetables as well.
I was stuffed and had no room for dessert.

DSCN3794.jpg

Marc had the fish and chips.
Again he loves this meal where ever he gets it.
I'll just say that the bangers at Ragland were a bit spicier than at R&C still very good!

DSCN3795.jpg

We had a nice conversation with a couple that was sitting next to us. They were celebrating 50 years of marriage. They were so nice and fun to visit with. We said our good byes and snapped a couple more photos on our way out.

If we had been staying later there would have been a Irish dancer on the small stage.

The baby gorilla is precious! :goodvibes I hate that we missed her while we were there in March. I'm really going to try to see her during this May trip.

Uhmmmmm, am I to guess that you got the navy blue/ Mickey Dooney? OR are you just trying to throw us off-track with the last picture? ;)

Love the baby gorilla pictures. Yesterday MeMom had me missing EPCOT.. now I want a day at AK! Great shopping pictures, and good luck finding the dress for the cruise.

LOVE it!!!

Oh my goodness... we saw the baby gorilla too. In fact she was breast feeding her. For the longest time the mom had her back to us but we waited and waited and finally she turned around and showed us and I took a video.. it was amazing. I can't wait to write about the experience in my TR because it was just incredible.
