Has anyone rented a mobility scooter from Cloud of Goods? I usually rent from Gold Mobility but need one for 8 weeks this year which is very expensive.

I used them at Disneyland and there is no way I would ever consider them again. And I am usually someone who is willing to give a company a second chance. The scooter that was delivered can best be described as a Franken-Scooter. It definitely had mismatched parts. The seats was way too big for the scooter and not steady. It would not hold any sort of charge (just going from Pixar Pier hotel to the entrance of DL took it from green to red). My mom was the rider and she is well below the weight limits so it was not being taxed due to weight. We then charged overnight and it was dying by late morning again. I contacted them about a replacement and they did not seem to care and said they did not have another to swap out for us. I was pretty disgusted about the whole experience. I am sure I wrote a review here when it happened but it was pre covid so no idea where to look for it here.

Edit to add link to the review I did in 2019 about Cloud of Goods scooter. I forgot the comment from my mom at the time in the review.

Sorry one more thought --- maybe reach out to Gold and ask if there is any way to work out a deal for a longer term rental of 2 months and see if they will give you a break on the price. Some companies will give a larger price break for a longer term rental. Never hurts to ask.

I just checked since I'd never heard of the company, and apparently they do business in a city close to where I live. They have excellent reviews both there and in some other places. Hopefully they're no longer owned and/or managed by the same people as several years ago. But the fact that I hadn't heard of them makes me a little nervous.

We’ve used them twice in Orlando so far, have used Gold over 10 times, and Buena Vista only a few times (found their time windows hard to plan around).

They all have their pros/cons. How much each matters will depend on the individual.

What I really liked about Cloud of Goods was the lower cost and much better choice of pick up and drop off times. The first time we were able to give it back very late, meaning we were able to close MK that last night. The guy agreed to come to Grand Flo at 11pm. We used them again last month for a short 4 night trip not only because much cheaper but so we could have it late that last night… and they ended up asking if we could just do 8am the next morning for no price increase (charged only 3 nights), which worked beautifully.

Where CoG is not as good is upkeep. Gold has always been very good at maintaining every detail to a high standard (the pricing has just gone up too fast). CoG not so much with the upkeep. We didn’t have any problems due to that, but the condition was a bit beat up and the charge socket loose. One thing to note, scooters may show power going from green to orange and even red, then go back up to green when it switches to the 2nd battery onboard. We just kept the power cord in the seat pocket and even though sometimes it looked like we might run out of power, we never needed to charge in the parks. Just charged daily overnight while sleeping.

Going forward I will likely flip flop between CoG and Gold depending on prices and what kind of trip we are taking.
