Clothing Returns

Yesterday I bought a shirt from droid depot and when I got home I went to take the tag off and it ripped a hole in the shirt. Will they exchange it for a new shirt or did I just lose $30?
 

I'd take the shirt & receipt back to the store and tell them what happened. They might replace the shirt as a form of Guest Recovery. They can be pretty good with that stuff.

This type of thing bothers me. Everyone expects Disney to make things right when the OP tore the shirt. What did Disney do wrong? Why should they replace when OP did something not too smart! I'll admit I suggested asking but that was half sarcasm. Disney doesn't have to eat the cost of guests irresponsible behavior.
 
They would probably replace it because they are over the top on customer service. IMO though, you damaged it yourself so you shouldn't take advantage of their kindness.

Worst case scenario is they say no.
They've replaced Minnie Ears that have fallen into the water on Jungle Cruise and all the guest did was throw their head back laughing at one of the jokes.

I have cut a hole in a shirt trying to get the tag off the back because it made my neck itchy, never thought about asking the store to exchange it, I was just mad at myself for doing it and took the loss.

OR, accept that you made a mistake and live with it, instead of putting an overworked, underpaid employee in an awkward position to decide whether it’s legitimate guest recovery. (Hint: It’s not.)
 
I would try to return it. When we purchased sunglasses they said if they became scratched, damaged or lost during our trip they would replace them for free with the receipt.
