I feel that even 90 is cold.. yes I know, Im a freak....
So I wear thermal tees most of the year.. I take fingerless gloves with me, and a hat..
and then I always have a jacket of some kind with me... layering is the way to go as stated above.. have fun and stay warm...![]()
I just wanted to add....while it is a royal pain, I would plan for both types of weather. I'm in Northern California and tend to run cold as well. We were at DL in October 2 years ago and it was downright HOT to the point we had to change outfits for the evening because we had sweated through the daytime outfit! (Yuck!) We did pull sweatshirts on in the evening, but not every time.
California tends to be like that, even though it is October and 'Fall' it can still get pretty darn hot!
kailuagirl said:really... cold??? Now I'm really confused about what I need to start planning for packing. We'll be there 9/29 - 10/5. So I guess we have to pack hot and cold stuff. But how cold do I pack for. Is it like the cold nights in June? as cold as Thanksgiving time? Here I was thinking we didn't need to bring any long pants at all and just a light jacket. hummmm....
The weather at DLR in the fall can be deceptive. The days can be warm and sunny, but the nights cool down very quickly (thank you, sea breeze!). Layers are your best bet, and I have found that the better quality layers really work best (at least, for me -- and I get cold when it is 70*F). A wool hat (like a beret) works well and can fit easily in a bag or jacket pocket. Smart Wool tights or socks (not itchy and really good at stabilizing temperature -- cool when it's hot, warm when it's cold). Silk thermals (light to wear, amazing warmth from such thin layers, hand wash in the hotel sink and dry overnight). Always have gloves in my pocket. And a light, but workhorse, jacket -- Gortex is my favorite. Keeps me warm, but doesn't make me sweaty. And many Gortex jackets pack up in their own pocket, so they are easy to carry around. The Gortex also works as protective wear on water rides and for WOC splash zone!
