Not sure if this is the right place to post but does anyone have ideas about brands or types of shorts/skorts/skirts that work well climbing in and out of rides, walking in the heat, getting wet on Kali, etc? I am short and want to look tall and perfect of course (tee hee hee) and be comfortable and cool at the same time. Too much to ask? DH got a new camera to take and I want to look good in any pics he will be taking in the parks.

TIA,
Robin

First off, as for Kali, I wear a poncho! :rotfl: I despise getting wet and then having to walk around wet. It happened and I was truly miserable. I learned from that. Otherwise, I like the Levi's stretch denim shorts. They're super comfortable. I am also short so I can relate. I've found Bebe tank tops to be extremely comfortable and stylish. Old Navy flip flops (the cheap 2 for 5 deal) are the only flip flops that I can walk around Disney in without them hurting. Plus, they come in tons of colors! I never wear skirts to the parks, not even Epcot. I save the skirts for DTD and nice dinners. Paris Blues also makes really comfy regular denim shorts. Board shorts are also a good choice. I stay away from t-shirts, they're not my thing. It was hotter than normal last May (we're going this May too) so I'm sticking with the tank tops. Oh yeah, and Abercrombie makes great, cute, really comfy tank tops as well! Hope that helps somewhat! Have a great trip! :thumbsup2

We learned our lesson a few years ago at Busch Gardens. After walking around in wet denim shorts for a while we stopped at a gift shop and bought (expensive in the parks) nylon shorts. That's all we wear now to the parks. that and tank tops and sandals. Hope this helps. There's nothing more miserable than walking around in shorts that take forever to dry. The nylon ones dry fast

I went to Disney 2 years ago and when i went i learned a few things. If you're going to go on Kali River Rapids then bring extra clothes because you will get wet and the clothes there are very expensive. Another thing is that if you wear sneakers then don't go on any wet rides, they'll get soaked. Unless it's a ride where you can take your shoes off and put them in a center bin so they don't get soggy. Cause it sucks when you hear "slish/slosh" in your shoe all day when you step pixiedust:

Thanks for the tips! I'm going shopping today and my DH has to tell me what shorts look good enough for pictures and I decide on comfort. Sounds like I'll be trying board shorts, denims, and nylon. I also like how board short feel and look but wasn't sure if the poly/nylon/non natural fibers would feel too icky in the humidity. I'll definitely try them though.

If anyone has more thoughts, please let me know.

They can stick if you're sitting in a non-airconditioned area for too long, but hey, it's Florida. Also, if you're not planning on getting wet, denim is fine. I for one despise getting wet, so that's not really a consideration for me. Besides, I'm sure whatever you ultimately decide will be fine. Just plan outfits according to what park you're going to that day. :)
