I'm thinking of trying to sell some items on eBay. Does new clothing - Kohl's quality - sell? TIA!

It might sell, but probably not for a ton. One of my best friends buys clothes on eBay all the time because it is so cheap. She gets pieces from J. Crew, Banana Republic, etc. for a few dollars usually. When something doesn't fit her (too big), she often passes it off to me. I have gotten some cute dresses that way.

I sold some linen scarfs that I got from J. Crew for $10. They were bridesmaids gifts, but I had extra. They retailed for $50 and I ended up selling them for $35 each, so in that case, I made money. But those don't have a size, so not much chance someone would buy and not be able to wear it.

It can be a hassle. There are ebay fees and paypal fees, plus shipping costs.

Do you have a consignment store nearby, or a facebook sale group that you could join?

All good points - and a great idea about Facebook groups! I'll check that out for the clothes!

Ask up front about consignment shop fees. I used to sell my kids clothes every season at our local shop. They split it 50/50. Then they changed their take to 60%. When it went up to 70% I decided I'd rather donate it than give them that much money.

My daughter has had success selling on Vinted.

I've had success selling a variety of things. I just meet in a public place to exchange them. I have sold furniture as well, but had the buyer come when my husband was home. I think it's safer than Craigslist because you can vet them through Facebook.

I sell my kids old clothes on ebay every year. I had some Jumping Beans Disney items and Juicy Couture (all NWT and from Kohl's) and I couldn't give those brands away. The market is better for used clothes like mini boden and Gymboree. I wouldn't buy anything from Kohl's with the intention of reselling. The adult market might be different. IDK, I just sell my kids stuff.

A lot of specialty clothing.. Cheer clothing, gymnastics .
I look but rarely buy

I don't think you'd get much for clothes from Kohls. It probably wouldn't be worth the effort. Kohls isn't overly expensive to begin with. I find people looking to buy clothes on ebay are looking for deals on more expensive brands.
You can search through ended listings to get an idea of how well things like what you have sell.

If you purchased them from Kohls, and they are new, you can always take them back to the store. A few weeks ago, I found a pair of leggings when cleaning out my closet. They were still brand new and in the packaging. I remembered I got them when I switched jobs almost two years ago (I know, I know. No judging!). Kohls has a AMAZING return policy so I took them back to the store. The associate didn't bat an eye. I did not have a receipt, but I had the card I used to purchase. Because it was a debit card, she gave me the refund in cash. Even if I didn't still have the card or receipt, I would have gotten store credit.

My brother did something similar with a pair of jeans he bought at Nordstrom. He bought them, never removed the tags or wore them and try sat in his trunk for almost 2 years! The receipt was still in the bag with the jeans. Nordstrom gave him his money back, in full and in cash. I like stores with such generous return policies.

I sell lots of clothes on eBay and really the only Kohl's clothes that I have good luck selling are Plus Sizes.

I occasionally buy clothing off of eBay. New and even used with only light signs of wear.

I probably wouldn't buy anything I could get at Kohl's. I can usually get that stuff pretty cheap myself with the 30% codes/coupons/Kohl's cash. And in that case, I'd rather buy from Kohl's because I know I can return it easily if I end up not liking it, it doesn't fit or the quality is poor. All of those things are regular issues with Kohl's clothing. Not that I don't shop there - I do, a lot - but there are plenty of issues with their stuff that often cause me to return the stuff I buy online.

The items I buy are brands that I know will be quality, and where I am pretty sure of the sizing from past purchases. But even then, they have to be much better prices than I would get just shopping their websites/stores and watching for good sales, because I am taking a risk of not liking it for one reason or another and not really being able to return it (even if the sellers allow it, usually the return shipping costs negate any point in doing so).

When my kids were babies and toddlers, I did well selling their outgrown clothing, but that was more than 10 years ago and eBay was a different animal. Some of it was Gymboree, baby gap etc. but not all of it. I also found things at thrift stores (Hanna Andersson was a biggie) that made me some money. Now, I just sell outgrown competition swimsuits and sports jerseys etc. when we have them. Sometimes even those don't do well.

I have a friend who sells on Ebay and she says its often designer or higher end name brands that people want and with shipping it can be a hassle. I second a local facebook group. I joined ThredUp and while I am sending a bag in I was surprised they don't take some designer/high end brands. They seem to only take what sells well and Kohls is definitely not on the list.

I guess I could give it a try! If it doesn't work, I am probably just going to donate them to a women's group my church works with. I've watched some of the Facebook listings, and from what I've seen, clothes don't seem to sell.

They'll take them back. Their return policy is "Return anything at any time for any reason." You don't need the tags or even receipt.
