Clothes for American Girl Dolls

Where can I get cheap clothes for an american girl doll? Do you they fit into regular baby clothes?

I have been searching etsy and ebay for clothes that people make.
You could also go to Michael's or AC Moore, they sell doll clothes, and if you have a 40% off coupon then that's even more help

I just ordered NEW Christmas outfits(were original AG outfits) for Bitty Baby on Ebay , granted it is a older style but my 3 yr old nieces don't know any better and I saved myself almost $30! Ebay also has many people who sew their own clothes and I'm sure there great! Back when my daughter was little I found a women who sewed clothes at a much cheaper price. My daughter loved them even more because someone she met actually made them!

The Our Generation doll clothes at Target fit the AG dolls fairly well. They are a little tight, but they work.

You want the clothes for an 18" doll.

Being the mother of 2 boys, I never figured I would be sewing doll clothes. Simplicity and McCall's has patterns for the clothes and they are really not that hard. I have a niece who definitely enjoys them and it is really cheap to make them. I stalk the remenant bins at JoAnn's. Her doll is the best dressed on the block!

Ebay. Prices are really down this week. I've lost money on every AG item I've sold in the past three days - both new & used. So much for starting at 99 cents during the holiday season. Revising the rest of my auctions as I type to make the starting bids a little higher so at least when I take a bath on them the water's a little warmer...

The Our Generation doll clothes at Target fit the AG dolls fairly well. They are a little tight, but they work.

Be careful of long sleeved items from Target. Their dolls have more-closed hands. Some of the long sleeved items won't fit over an AG.

Keep an eye on AG's website, they are having new daily specials each day. So far nothing fabulous I needed, but always hope!

As said, Ebay and Etsy. This is also church/Christmas fair season. They often have AG things-picked up a cute hand knit sweater at one this morning!

Keep an eye on craigslist too, sometimes you can find an older girl "liquidating" her stuff in hopes of more grown up toys.

The ones we have do fit but they are sometimes a bit snug in areas. We have the Snow White dress, tinkerbelle dress and then the disney girl doll and her outfit and the AG dolls have worn them all.
