ok following on from another thread. i think i have seriously underestimated the weather in february. ash is just gone two and will hardly spend any time in her buggy.what would be best to dress her in to keep her warm. to think i was just thinking tights and a jeans!!

Hello- were were there from 20th Dec -a week before my little girls second birthday-she too kept wanting out the buggy-we put her in jeans with tights underneath ,vest, top and cardigan , big jacket as well as gloves and hat!

Have to say though on the slightly wet drizzly days she wore her ski suit over her clothes which was great-it kept her cosey plus if any of the rides were slightly damp or she tripped over or lost balance and fell on the wet ground it didn't matter.

We got ours in the Adams sale for £7.50 too so it was a fantastic buy!

My husband and I went to DLP for a day trip Pre kids a few years ago one Feb-and it was the coldest I have ever been in my life!! (I live in Scotland so am used to the cold!)
So she definately will need well wrapped up!

When i went in Jan last year i basically got some thermal vests for Kyra from primark.

I would put them and jumper on her, and tights under the jeans with her gloves. She doesnt wear hats and only wears scarfs when she is in the mood and the weather was so cold and she didnt moan once that she was cold.

If i wear too many layers i get hot and uncomfortable.

yeah ash has never been a child who wants to be wrapped up. thats why im worried. i would be doing great getting her into a heavy jacket with a hat and gloves. i dont have an idea of how i would get her to wear a ski suit

I have never bothered with a ski suit for Kyra, too much hassle taking it on and off for toilet breaks etc.

Kyra has a nice bomber jacket coat that she will be wearing next week, if i pile her up with too many layers she wil look like a amercian football player lol.

:rotfl: yeah i could just picture that lol

ash has a heavy nike jacket i think i will take that. i have those thermal vests (we call it pennys over here lol)and she can have tights and socks. i have a huge blanket for when she will stay in the buggy

i will check the weather closer to it to see if its gonna be crazy cold

I'm taking Kyra's fleece blanket for when she is in he buggy aswell.

I might see if i can pick up some ear muffs in town later for both of us though.

We go next week & I bought my daughter, who turned 2 in December, an all in one ski suit from ebay. Maybe you could look out for one. I have already had her in it a few times already.

I bought salopettes for my eldest two - I was thinking of keeping them dry if they sat on a wet ride. I've bought fleeces, tights, thermals, hats, gloves and warm coats - the kids will be fine, it's me who will freeze. We will probably go dressed for Arctic weather and it will be warm (OK, I know, but I can hope, can't I?)

I would definitely buy skiwear for a 2 year old. But like Emma said, they can be a little awkward. The salopettes I got DD (4) are more like dungarees and they are very pink - it was the only way I'd get her to wear them.:goodvibes

We were going to put a pair of tights under Adam's jeans but we didn't have to as it turned out to be quite mild when we were there (phew). On the top, he had a thermal vest (from Primark too), his long-sleeved top, a fleece and his padded coat. His body was always nice & warm when we felt it (when we were indoors). We also had mittens but he refused to wear them (although he did ask for them one evening after dinner - that means he must've really been cold lol). Luckily he will wear a hat - if not, he'd be quite happy to have his hood on otherwise.

We also brought the buggy raincover with us to shield the wind when he sat in the buggy. Came in very useful when he fell asleep in the buggy - we'd just put the cover down and I think he must've been quite snug in there coz it started steaming up lol.

People will think im crazy when they see the cute outfits i have lined up for Kyra to wear next week they are not exactly clothes for a trip to the artic lol.

:rotfl: at least you have been before so you know krya will be fine.

im just back from town and had ash bundled up and she even pulled the blanket over her head to keep warm. im starting to think ski suits arent all that bad :rotfl:

Jessica refuses to zip her coat up because she wants everyone to see her clothes. My eldest pretends not to be cold so that she doesn't have to wear her coat because she thinks it makes her look like a 'geek'. My kids are suffering for fashion already? I would stroll round with my duvet wrapped round me if I could get away with it.:rotfl:

yeah i love how they say what they think its so refreshing :rotfl2:

yep it was freeeeeezing here

If you get some thermal base layers, it'll keep them a bit warmer without effecting how they look ;) They just wear their ordinary clothes over the top, so they can still look fashionable :thumbsup2 .

I got DD2 (15 months) a ski jacket with the dungaree type salopettes. I'm not sure she'll want to wear them but I'll just force her into them :lmao: They've got buttons around the bottom too, so it's easier to change nappies (or for toilet stops).

I got the older 2 waterproof trousers for rides or when it rains. DD1 (7) told me that she would definitely NOT be wearing them, but then she got soaked the other week on the walk home from school and so when I told her it would be worse in DLP if she didn't wear them, she said she'd wear them if she had to :rotfl:

We went from the 17th-20th And I put DD in a vest, tights, Jeans, Socks, a top and Jumper with coat hat and scarf, gloves. And a Cosy toes. I bought a lovely fleece blanket out there aswell. And we wrapped her in that on the evenings.

I bet we will be able to spot the disers kids at DLRP. They will be well wrapped but fashionable.:rotfl:
