Go to the calendar section, plug in the dates you're looking for and it should tell you the closures as well as scheduled shows and events for both parks.

If you are going soon, the reason not much is listed is because DLR tries to keep all the rides up and running during peak season. They refurb rides during the off-season.

The July Mousesavers newsletter just listed these upcoming refurbs:

Riverbelle Terrace and Bengal BBQ restaurants (Disneyland) may be closed from 8/15/07-Fall 2007 for a major transformation.


Haunted Mansion will be closed 9/04/07-9/20/07 for its annual conversion to the Haunted Mansion Holiday.


Gadget's Go Coaster will be closed from 9/04/07-9/28/07 for refurbishment.


Alice in Wonderland will be closed from 9/12/07-10/01/07 for refurbishment.

Why would rides go to rehab? do they have alcohol or drug problems?

They do go through refurbishment.

This is the one I am most interested in as I have confirmed ressies for Fantasmic! Balcony Seating on August 2. The dates I have read about vary from August 1-August 15 for this rehab to start and therefore for the Balcony Dessert Buffet to end. I did email Vacation Planning and have received no response. They have been very prompt in their responses to my emails before so that puzzles me. I have been tempted to call them too, but wanted a few more specifics before doing so. There is really nothing I can do if it is a "done deal." Thanks for the info!

Here is a post I made on another thread on the DL Board. It explains a little about my concern and the outcome of a phone call to Vacation Planning.

Here is the latest info I just received from Vacation Planning. In their system our August 2nd reservations still stand "as of now." It was this CM's belief that they are honoring existing reservations but making no new ones. Which, given the timing of some of the closure notices (August 15) makes sense. However, we did make certain that they have my cell phone in their system since I arrive in CA on July 25, and we don't get to DL until August 2.

If I get a call from them and if I have internet access when I do, I would post here to let you all know. Meanwhile I need to see if we can make alternate arrangements for that evening's activities in case we have to make changes on the fly!

I really hope that Gadget's Go Coaster isn't closed while we're there. My youngest is finally tall enough to ride it. I'm already sad about the Haunted Mansion.

I just looked at the Disneyland website and while it used to have Haunted Mansion and Gadget's Go Coaster scheduled for closure (for our dates), it now shows Haunted Mansion and Casey Jr. Train. Could some of these other websites have outdated info?
