For those of you who have added on or purchased direct points, after you return paperwork and payment, what is the process and communication like? How long does it typically take to close and do they notify you when it is complete?

Since I had my points before I even signed the paperwork, I don't think I paid much attention. Lol

But I think the only specific direct communication I had was to make the final payment. I had asked to spread it out across 2 billing cycles on my Disney Visa ( which stretched the 6 months at 0% interest to over 7 months.) So closing didnt happen until after that payment. Then, I just got the deed / completed paperwork in the mail after all was done.

I feel like there was a fair amount of mail along the way....basic DVC info... plus my tote bag and a cute little box of "stuff"...

But closing was barely a thought, because you're really not waiting on anything important.

That is true, different feeling when the points are loaded right after deposit. I was just curious about what to expect. The QA person told me I needed to wait until closing to 1) Pay the additional dues, and 2) Order Membership Cards (quoting me 4-6 weeks until they arrive thank goodness for the digital version for our upcoming trip).

The dues won't be billed until approx 6 weeks after you've signed the papers. Member cards should be prepped and mailed to you automatically if this is your first membership. Direct closing really isn't the same as it is with resale. You aren't allowed to transfer points until you do but that's about it. And with online member cards the physical card doesn't mean that much either anymore.

Yes, I remember being very anxious about paying my dues for some reason. it seemed to take a long time for them to process and I kept checking for them to show up online. Eventually they did and I could then just set up autopay. I was a first time buyer. I don't know if you're already set up for auto pay if they just add them on or what..

I just looked and my deed was recorded 10 days after my final payment .
