Closing time

How do park hours work? I was told that it is best to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter first thing in the morning or at the end of the day.
Example:
Universal's Islands of Adventure Hours are 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Universal Studios Hours are 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Do the gates close at 7 PM or do the rides and attractions close at 7 PM?

How does Universal close and clear out the park?
Are there no nighttime events?

rides/attractions close when the park does.
if you are in line for a ride and the chime rings 7:00, you are allowed to stay in the line to do that ride.

no one will be allowed to enter the ride line once the park closes.

The only nighttime event is the Cinematic spectacular at the studios and that is only on certain nights
