Closing time vs ride stoppage time question

Hey everyone,

I am probably going to go over to the parks this afternoon. I know the park closes at 6 but I was wondering if the rides really stop operating then. Can you linger in the park until 630ish or do they force everyone out at the turn of the hour?

Thanks!

They won't let anyone in after closing of course but you should be able to wander a round some...not sure how long though. The restaurants close 30 minutes prior to park closing so eating that late wouldn't be an option in the parks. I imagine the lines for the rides are closed at park closing but anyone who's in line can ride until the line is clear.

If you get in line at 5:59 (with a 6pm closing) and you see them close the line behind you, then you can still ride. They'll continue to cycle the ride until the line is gone, they just won't let anyone in after closing.

As for clearing the park, at closing time, 2 teams of Security meet at the back of the park (at IOA it's at P-Flyers, at Studios its at MiB) and 1 team goes to the right, and 1 team goes to the left. They don't push guests out, they simply tell them that they're can't go back to MIB or JP. They casually wait until the guests figures out that it's closing time. They follow the last guests out and the 2 teams meet at the front of the park.

I agree with Timmy Boy's post except on HRRR; they tend to close an hour prior to park closing. In this weekend's case US closed at 7pm (holiday concert series) yet the closed HRRR at 5pm.

They also post someone at the bridge in US so you can't cut over from one side of the park to the other. Even if you had a HHN ticket you still had to go down to the Diner and cut over to get to Finnegan's.

Security guards will push everyone out of the park, starting at around 6. Rides will drop the rope at 6pm sharp, doesn't matter if you were just walking up or ran all the way there. If you get in the line before 6, then yes the ride stays open until the whole line is gone, other than that, lingering doesn't work as we shut down everything. So technically, you could for maybe 10 minutes (or until someone pushes you out), but it'll be boring.

Lord knows I sat in the Rip Ride Rockit for nearly two hours after closing one night...long line to start with, and then the freakin' thing shut down a couple times and then a storm blew in. They cut the line right at closing, and lots of people just bailed out of the line during the wait, but those of us who gutted it out got to ride (it became a vendetta for DH and I).
