Closing on a DVC

We are in the process of getting our first DVC, however we have hit every snag know to man with closing..... Anyone have some insites on this process??

We were suppose to close on our DVC on Jan 9th but still waiting for Disney to give final pay off. How long does this normally take?

AND how long after that do we get our membership number and start planning our trip? We are going to Orlando in April- will there be enough time to get an available room at Animal Kingdom?

Oh that sucks! I hope you close soon. Our deed was filed 12/30/13, and we just got our member number in the mail Saturday 1/18/14. So it takes a couple of weeks. We have to wait a few more weeks for our packet to be able to go online. Got to call till then to make a reservation. Gonna try today, hope the wait wont be to bad.

When did your contract go to ROFR? That takes at least 30 days. Then you have closing and back to DVC to get you into the system, maybe another 30 days.

We passed ROFR back in August, suppose to close in December. Closing moved to January 2-9 timeframe. Had all our paperwork in by 9th, but closing still hasn't gone through... Still waiting for final pay off from disney is what we were told. How long does this take?

Does the seller still owe on the contract?

You will def be able to book animal kingdom...there is a lot of availability still showing for April. I am too in the middle of closing...apparently its getting held up by a death certificate from someone who isn't even on the sellers deed anymore! Crazy.

Most people get it in two weeks or so. Ours came about 19 days after deed was filed, but there was a holiday in there. You have to call, you only get your member number to start with. In our letter said our packet would be coming soon. I guess it has the info to use the website.

Our deed was filed on Jan 10 and still have not gotten our info....but Member Accounting was able to help us with our Member Number so we could book our late February trip as time was running out.
