I am just trying to finalize my touring plan for our first day in Magic Kingdom (May 12). That evening is a ticketed event for Disney After Hours. We are coming in on regular hopper passes.
According to the schedule, there is a 2nd Electrical Parade scheduled for 11 pm. This is technically closing time. I am wondering if we could stay in the park to view the parade and then exit the park.
TIA!

You won't be able to ride any rides or enter any ride lines, but you can stay and watch the parade.

They do not ask you to leave but at 11 you will no longer be able to get onto a ride. 10:59 you can. Stores are also not open during the event, im not sure when they close on main street so shop before 11. Starbucks and Casey's stays open.

Awesome! Thanks! Where would you recommend I watch the parade from? I am assuming that the park will be practically empty by that point and I should be able to just cruise up to grab a spot 15 min before the parade starts.

The closer to the hub, the more people there will be. on 4/21 there was 9 people, including the 4 cast members watching next to pecos bill for the 11pm one (more came by the end waiting to cross the street to get to splash). Most day visitors will start to leave after the fireworks and the second parade will be pretty empty but people get stuck waiting for it to pass or just stop near the hub and main street to watch it again.

the parade ends at the back so it's roughly 11:20 before it even starts back there and 11:30-11:40 before it's over.

We often watch by Liberty Square - lots of places to grab a seat at/near the rope line for a front row view! We arrive just before hand usually...but honestly - it's all about where you are in the park at 10:45pm or so...don't walk all the way back to frontierland if you are in tomorrowland...

The emporium does stay open during the after hours event. We bought sweatshirts there last Thursday and I realized there was a small hole in the seam about midnight-ob our way out I was able to exchange for a new one and it was almost 1 am at that point.
I did witness however at the icecream cart near Haunted Mansion (open for after hours guests) refuse to serve a day guest shortly after 10 pm. The lady wanted to buy icecream while waiting for her family on the haunted mansion and the cast member said they were not allowed to sell to anyonewithout a lanyard. It was only available to those attending the special event.

Good point, I need to start mentioning that when I say peco's bill.

The park became completely empty after the fireworks, but we didn't have a late parade on the day we were there. I would still think you could watch it from anywhere you'd like.
