HI all! My sister just closed on a resale yesterday for SSR. What happens next?

I have read of some of you calling Disney to see if you are in the system. Can she start to do that? She would be a brand new owner, not a current owner adding DVC points.

Does she just call MS and give her social or something? Does she get something from Disney letting her know her DVC member number?

She did the resale with **** at **********.

Thanks for any information.

It usually takes about a week to 10 days to get new members that buy via resale into the DVC computer system. Many call MS around day ten to see if they are in the system. And then as MS for their member number and temporary password so your DSis can access her account online. Then she'll be ready to make her first reservation.

If your DSis doesn't want to call then eventually she will get a temporary member card in the mail. And a while later she'll get a Vacation planner, and she should get the Public Offering Statement (POS) in a small book form. And after the deed is filed a copy of her deed. She can also check out the Orange County Recorder and see her deed on file. We keep electronic copies of deeds as well as the paper ones. http://or.occompt.com/recorder/web/login.jsp

We used Jaki/**** back in November, 2009 for a resale purchase. The title company will tell you when the contract is closed and that the Warranty deed is being sent to Disney. They tell you to give Disney 7-10 days to get you in the system. I called on day 3 and we were in the system. We were 1st time members then too. Just tell Member Services that you are a new member and purchased through resale. They will ask for your SSN and address. They gave us our new member number and we booked a reservation that day. You will receive your blue DVC membership card in the mail a couple of weeks later. Welcome home!!!

**** will send your Sister all the info that see needs to make contact with Member Services.

I just closed last week, my points were in there on Saturday..so 4 days from close date. I called on day 2, not there, skipped Friday..so they could have been there on Friday but I figured I was just calling every other day.

The first day I called they asked my name and what city I lived in. The second day they asked my name, city..then started asking about my email and actual street address...that is how I knew points were there...way more questions. Then they asked for last 4 of SSN.

They gave me 3 numbers, I think it was member number, then my unique number (DH has his own) and then my pin for registering for the member website. I got off the phone and registered right away...and have already booked our first trip.

Got a 2 bedroom at BWV in August.

Hi,

I closed on Friday, and the points were there the following Friday. I called Thurs to no avail., skipped Fri, called Sat and found they were in (and I made a ressie that day). Later I found out they were in on Friday, by looking at the history online. I'd try Mon or Tues, they might be there.

One thing, though, when I tried to get my pin on Sat when I made my ressie, they told me since my account was just created, they couldnt provide me with it. I called a few days later, and they gave it to me and I logged in that day.
