I subscribe to the TimeShare Store's email listing of DVC resale contracts. In their latest listings, it appears that 200-point contracts have about $500.00 in closing costs. According to the TSS, that $500 fee is the only expense you will have other than the cost per point and, in some cases, current MFs on points you get with the resale contract (BTW - When doing a resale, you can sometimes negotiate with the seller as to who pays the closing costs and/or MF). From comments I have read on the disboards, it appears that the closing costs can vary depending on which company you use. If you buy direct from Disney, the closing costs are probably lower than on the resale market. We bought a 160-point contract from Disney in May and paid $244.50 in closing costs. We then bought a 50-point add-on contract from Disney and did not have to pay any closing costs.
With The Timeshare Store, Inc.®*the closing costs (for contracts 101 points or greater) are based on the purchase price. If you email us at sales@dvcstore.com we would be happy to email you the closing cost breakdowns.
