What are closing costs when you purchase through Disney?

From what I have read, there are no closing costs when buying from Disney.

According to what I can find, DVC charges new members closing fees. DVC members purchasing add-on contracts do not pay closing fees.

We just bought 160 points at AKL on Mother's Day and the closing costs amounted to a little over $300. When I got back home from the trip I arranged a loan at my bank and the closing costs dropped about $80. The guide failed to mention this and I was sure glad I read sites like this to get more facts.

My closing costs yesterday were 235.00 for 210 points. It s more for financed purchases

We bought 160 pts and the closing cost was about $250 with no financing.

Oh Ok, I get it. If you buy from Disney direct, the closing costs are smaller than if you did resale by about half it seems. Good to know.
